3 Beautiful Waterside Holiday Gites Near Campeaux in Calvados, Normandy, France

Three traditional modernised Normandy cottages in 3 hectares of lush watermill setting. The cottages are sympathetic conversions of old stone outbuildings, all fully equipped for the perfect self catering holiday.

Le Gite D'Ile (1 Bedroom, Sleeps 2)

A ground floor detached self-catering mini-gite with its own private terrace and magnificent views across the river to the waterfall. It has a fully-equipped kitchen, living room, fireplace, two armchairs, double bed, kitchen corner, shower room, WC and electric heating. Washing machine in the nearby barn. Closed grounds with lawn and garden furniture this gite is on an island formed by the water flow of the Mill. This property has a history dating back over 800 years to 1308 and was modernised in the 1990s.

Gite du parc (2 Bedroom, sleeps 4)

This south facing gite is an all day sun trap with private terrace running the length of the building. Although built of local stone in 1800 the layout bears more than a passing resemblance to the longierre style of cottages of Haute Normandy. Looking at the cottage from the left you will find, fully fitted kitchen with cooker, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, coffee maker and a breakfast table.French windows out to the patio. The kitchen leads into the living room. The living room is equipped with a two seater setee and 2 armchairs as well as DVD player and open fireplace, (logs can be bought in cooler months).

A door to the right leads into a double bedroom decorated and furnished in classic rustic Normandy French style, but with a super king size bed at it's centre This in turn leads straight into the bathroom with bath/shower wc, and wash basin. At the very end of the cottage is a small living room which has a TV/DVD player with all the English freeview channels and a sofa bed. French doors lead out to the patio area with it's picnic table and BBQ. Sunloungers are also on the patio here. A steep staircase leads to the upstairs twin bedroom, with its velux window affording a spectacular view across the the garden to the river Vire.

The real living room in this charming Normandy dwelling is the outside terrace. The cottage has its own private terrace and delightful enclosed garden and the river Vire runs alongside.

Gite du cadran-solaire (3 bedroom)

A traditional detached Normandy self-catering holiday cottage for 7/9 people with breathtaking river and valley views. It has its own lush private garden with table and chairs, as well as off road parking.

Ground floor entrance from the patio to large fully fitted kitchen with large table & american fridge, washing machine, dish washer and everything needed for food preparation and consumption. Upstairs to bedroom 1, furnished with a double & a single bed. Adjacent is the main bathroom, corridor to bedroom 2 with double bed, WC and vanity unit.

Through to bedroom 3, the kids room, with bunk beds and a sofa bed. From this bedroom stairs lead down to a shower room with shower and wash basin.
