2 bedroom Country Cottage in La Pernelle. The property boasts an attractive country garden, 2 bedrooms and sleeps 4 people. The kitchen is well-equipped and perfect for cooking the local seafood and seasonal vegetables from the garden. It enjoys easy access to country and seaside walks. There are plenty of great activities for both children and adults.

The cottage is very compact, the bedrooms are small as they are designed for sleeping only. The bunk beds are not suitable for very small children who are not used to sleeping in a bed. We have a wooden cot for very young children. On the spacious and light-filled landing there is adequate cupboard and chest of drawer space to store clothes. The bedroom velux windows have blinds. Under the stairs there are pull out cupboards with plenty of space for bags and suitcases and unused equipment. The shower room has a shower unit 1m10 x 80cm, small basin and heated towel rail. The WC is separate. Set in hamlet surrounded by hedged farmland. Courtyard with parking space, leading into cottage with access at the back into part of a pretty garden, sunny and well protected with an area for eating and relaxing in the orchard. This space is reserved for guests.

The cottage is ideally positioned, just 30 minutes SE of Cherbourg and within easy distance of D-Day landing beaches. Only an hour's drive will take you to the Bayeux Tapestry. It is very close to the picturesque harbour of Barfleur and the marina of St. Vaast la Hougue. As well as long sandy beaches, plenty of sea activities are available (sailing, wind-surfing, rock fishing, kayaking). 3 covered swimming pools in Cherbourg and two golf courses within easy distance. Local markets open 6 daya of the week. There are medieval towns to visit, castles, churches, museums and Mont St Michel within two hours' drive. Perfect for family holidays with small children, or for adults wanting to explore the D-Day locations. Convenient shopping for foodstuffs and other needs is available nearby in Intermarche supermarket, local bakers, butchers and excellent organic store as well as daily markets in various towns nearby. Bank and PO in the village. It is possible to rent bicycles. There is space in the garage to put your own, but be warned, we live on a steep hill!

Bed linen and towels can be provided at 15€ per person as well as a cleaning service at 45€. Electric heating is calculated using the electricity meter, read on morning of arrival and on departure. Cost depends on outside temperature and personal needs. An approximate cost can be given. A list of things to do with children can be sent to you so that you can prepare your holiday. We have a big stock of tourist information pamphlets and the tourist office is open in the village on most days.

Refundable Damage Deposit €200.

Please contact us by email to check availability or to make a reservation. On booking a bank transfer for half the amount of the rent must be paid as a deposit.

If you need to cancel a booking up to 6 weeks before the date of arrival 50 per cent of the deposit will be returned. If you cancel between 4 and 6 sweeks before the date of arrival, 25% of the deposit will be returned.

A damage deposit of 200€ is due on arrival. This is returned once the property has been checked at the end of the stay. Prices and payment are in euros and the rent and any extras (bedlinen, cleaning service) must be paid on arrival and the heating on departure after it has been calculated.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is Saturday but we can offer flexibility outside the main season. Arrival time is after 4pm to allow time for preparation of the property, and departure time is 10am. However it is usually possible to fit in with guests' requirements.

Heating is not included. Meter read on morning of arrival and on departure. Cost depends on outside temperature and guests needs but in cold weather it is approximately 8€ per day.
Options: Bed linen and towels can be provided at 15€ per person. Cleaning service 45€. Tourist tax also due.
