Stunning Lakeside Holiday Retreat with heated pool near Carcassonne Reviews

Totally satisfying: again

This is our second stay. First was in winter / early spring with lots of logs in the various fireplaces and very cosy. This was a full on summer stay. The lake was beautiful and we were able to use the wide range of summer facilities at Maison Tranquil. Giant garden chess set: excellent. The pool is well tended, large and much used by us. The BBQ and other equipment, loungers etc are all good quality and well presented. There are lots of terraces to catch or avoid the sun and watch the lake, sunsets etc. Although the property is in a small and lovely hamlet it's very convenient for all sorts of places of interest. Carcassonne, Mirepoix, Toulouse, Limoux. The amazing underground caves and rivers the other side of Foix ( and less than an hour away). Plus the level Med beaches of Narbonne and Gruissan only an hours drive. There is nothing not to like.... The rooms are all spacious. The bathrooms all work well and the place accomodated 12 folks with ease. Plus, the owners are on site, though never seen unless called, which makes for an additional level of comfort as they are instantly attentive if anything is required. All in all rather a splendid place to stay!. Philip and Geraldine

A little gem!

We had a lovely and relaxing holiday at Tranquil Maison. The house is lovely and is very well equipped, the lake and its surroundings are amazing. We visited some lovely towns and also Carcassonne Castle which we all enjoyed. We are hoping to go back to Tranquil next year!

Parfait! What more needs to be said.......

There is something quite beautiful about travelling. Just when you think you've seen it all, that next 'thing' around the corner trumps all that you've seen. This was it. Beautiful location. Beautiful people. Beautiful food and service, but it was all beautifully effortless. And that was the winning card! All down to Andrea and Mark. Well done and thank you!

The perfect venue!

We can't give enough praise for this gorgeous and homely retreat. The setting is utterly stunning and was the perfect venue for our wedding. Mark and Andrea were so helpful and friendly and helped us with our plans -without them the wedding would have been stressful. We had fantastic catering on the day and a lovely BBQ which Mark cooked for us (even with a demanding 6 year old on his heels!)

We would highly recommend Maison Tranquil to anyone without hesitation and we hope to return one day. We loved every minute.

Wonderful house in a fabulous rural location

We have just returned from a wonderfully relaxing stay at Maison Tranquil with my husband, our two children (3yrs and 9mths) and my parents.

The house offers plenty of space with multiple areas to sit and eat, a well stocked kitchen and relaxing lounge.

The playroom was well stocked with exciting toys for our 3 year old boy, however the pool was his favourite entertainment!

The grounds are lovely with stunning views across the lake.

The location is rural, with lots of nice walks to the local villages and a short drive to bigger towns with supermarkets.

A perfect place to relax and unwind, thank you Mark & Andrea!!

GENIAL !!!


nous étions 17 pour feter mon anniversaire l'espace d'un week-end. Mark a été très accueillant et chaleureux. La maison est immense, je la conseille vivement à tout le monde. Le cadre est magnifique avec le lac en bordure de la maison. Un super weekend dans une super maison.

Gorgeous Lakeside Retreat

The most perfect location for a relaxing break. The accommodation is superb, very clean, great facilities (and a lovely pool) in beautiful surroundings. Andrea and Mark are brilliant hosts and nothing is too much trouble for them. The local towns are quaint and worth a visit but if all you want to do is relax and recharge then it is ideal for that too. I will definitely be returning.
