Les Lindonniers is spacious, quiet and peaceful, charentaise holiday gite that boasts spectacular views and tranquillity for guests. A warm welcome awaits you in the rolling countryside of the delightful Charente countryside! At the end of a private lane, 600m from the road, you will find Les Lindonniers, set in 14 hectares of woods and pastures, with its own heated pool and garden.

Enjoy the peace and quiet, or party until dawn - no-one will complain !
You can take a walk on the many paths through the woods, spot butterflies and hawks, play boules, cool off in the pool, enjoy a barbecue, listen to nightingales, stargaze or just unwind.

Accommodation:

The property is all on one level with a large kitchen, spacious sitting room/dining room.
There are 2 shower rooms (1 with bath as well) and 3 bedrooms; 2 doubles and a twin/triple. Extra beds, cots and high chairs are available. If needed, two additional double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms are available on request. Thick stone walls ensure that the farmhouse is always cool in the heat of the summer but cosy on winter evenings, with woodburners and radiators.

The kitchen is newly installed and fully fitted with washing machine, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and good equipment. French doors lead to the pool and pool terrasse, which is partially shaded.

The spacious sitting/dining room has satellite HDTV, DVD and CD players. High speed internet is also provided free of charge.

French doors lead to your garden where there is plenty of space in sunshine and in shade for outdoor dining, barbecues and play.
Guests have exclusive use of the heated pool of 8m x 4m. It has two depths of 1.2 m and 1.5 m which is ideal for the whole family to swim and play. The poolside terrasse has a covered area with a barbecue/wood burner (free logs!) for outside dining and watching fantastic sunsets over a glass of wine.

The Area:
There is much of interest within easy reach of the farmhouse. Brossac is located just 4km away, has a small supermarket and traditional baker, butcher, tabac, pharmacy, restaurant and holiday village with a lake for swimming and fishing with restaurant, clubhouse/beach bar and café and children’s playground.
The market town of Chalais, 10km away, has a supermarket and numerous restaurants and bars.
Aubeterre is also well worth a visit for its cobbled streets, shady squares, superb restaurants and the Eglise St. Jean, Europe’s largest subterranean church, with its huge cavern.

Tennis, golf, canoeing and horse riding is available locally. The Charente region has a number of bird sanctuaries and animal reserves. It is superb walking and riding country, with a wealth of off-road bridle paths.
Cognac, famous for its double-distilled brandy, and St. Emilion have cobbled streets and beautiful old architecture. For wine tasting there are also many local vineyards. Angoulême is set high on a hill and has a stunning cathedral and quaint, narrow streets.
