Family Friendly Cottage with Heated Pool in Gibourne, Charente-Maritime
A warm welcome awaits you at "Logis de la Croix" located in the picturesque village of Gibourne which is set in the heart of Charente Maritime in the southwest region of France.
We have lived in Gibourne since 2000 and opened our family run business the following year. We have developed this 17th French century farmhouse and attached barns into self catering family friendly accommodation comprising of 4 individual holiday homes / cottages or gites.
Our four family friendly homes offer a variety of comfortable accommodation with heated swimming pool and splash pool. The gites are situated in Gibourne, 20 minutes from St Jean D'Angely
Gibourne is a traditional French village, peaceful and tranquil, and surrounded by rolling farmland. The pretty town of Matha - 5 minutes - has supermarkets, banks, restaurants, bars, and an outdoor pool with slides.
LA GRANGE (Sleeps 8-9)
Entering from the courtyard into the fully fitted kitchen diner with gas cooker, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and fridge:freezer. The dining table comfortably seats 10 guests. Archway to the lounge with beamed ceiling, exposed stone wall. TV (with UK Satellite TV) and DVD player and plenty of room to relax.
Access from the lounge to inner hallway leading to the ground floor bedrooms. One bedroom with 2 single beds, the second has a double bed with a single bunk bed above. Both of these bedrooms are adjacent to the shower room with toilet, sink and shower. On the first floor there are two bedrooms, the master bedroom has a double bed and an ensuite bathroom with toilet, large vanity sink and bath. The second bedroom has a double bed and en-suite shower room with toilet, large vanity sink and shower.
OUTSIDE:
Each gite has its private patio, gas barbecue, table and chairs, loungers and an awning giving shade over the dining area.
A superb heated swimming pool (15 x 6 metres) plus a children’s splash pool (40 cm deep) in full view from the terrace and patios, in a secure enclosure with a self-locking gate for peace of mind if you have young children.
Beyond the pool area is an acre of lawn, overlooking fields in a very peaceful setting with plenty of space for football, cricket and a 6 hole crazy golf course.
This area is equipped with a range of children's play equipment including a wooden fort, swings, sandbox and slide - guaranteed to keep the young ones occupied.

Local Attractions
Logis de la Croix is in the centre of an area with a wealth of interests and activities. There are parks and boating for the family, local markets and chateaux, Futuroscope at Poitiers, an excellent zoo at La Palmera, near Royan, go-karting at St Jean D'Angley, picnicking and cycling in Aulnay forest.
Visit the wine cellars of Cognac, with a trip along the river, the aquarium at La Rochelle, the fortified seaside resort of Fouras and the beaches at Chatelaillon, La Rochelle and the off shore islands of Ile de Re and the salt marshes on Ile D'Oleron.
