The Station was bought over 16 years ago now, as the ideal location to live and enjoy the Vendee. With its great climate, varied countryside, and all you need for a great quality of life, as well as being easily accessible to the UK and the coast. Now you can share the en ce que La Gare experience as we offer The Station as a holiday home.
La Gare is a renovated railway house set in large split level gardens, with mature trees, a play area, quiet seating areas, a luxury outdoor kitchen and dining area and a heated outdoor 8m x 4m swimming pool. The Gite is free of neighbours, yet easily accessible to local towns and major road networks. This spacious and well appointed family home is in an ideal location to explore the Vendee, as well as providing guests with plenty of space to relax and unwind without living on top of each other. Each can find their own way to enjoy this well loved home, whether on a hammock under a mature oak tree, sitting/sunbathing next to the swimming pool, eating outside at the luxurious fully equipped outdoor kitchen, on the patio or the large flat lawns, evening walks on the adjacent footpaths, snuggled on large sofas in the evening for films, TV, games or to simply watch the wood burner flicker - the choice is yours.
Almost the entire property is wheelchair / disabled friendly - from the ground floor bedroom and shower wet room, to the level entrance to the walled garden and outdoor kitchen, the gentle slope up to the pool entrance, and also the slope up to the upper garden.
The ground floor master bedroom can be a suite on its own if desired - nicely secluded from the rest of the house by a small lobby, and with the shower wet room adjacent, you can have all the privacy you need ! It can also make a fabulous family room if required - there is a double sofa bed, or we can put a single bed in the alcove, hardly affecting the space available. Special Rental Conditions
Booking Notes:
Bookings are subject to 25% deposit payable at the time of booking (flexible arrangements can be made to assist budgeting) with the balance payable 8 weeks prior to arrival. A refundable security deposit of £200 is required for the duration of your stay which will be returned no later than 48 hrs after departure. Rental charges may be paid by cheque, inter-bank transfer (to our UK or French bank account).
Changeover Day:
Normally Saturday to Saturday, however outside of peak season this may be negotiated with the owners. Part weeks and long weekends will also be considered. The property must be vacated by 10am and will be available by 4pm.
Notes on prices:
All prices shown are for the house per week/night, for 6 clients The gite can accommodate up to 8clients a supplement will be levied in excess of the 6. All utilities during the period May 7 till September 17 are included other times electricity and wood for the log burner are charged as an extra. Welcome pack including tea, coffee, store cupboard basics supplied & initial complimentary BBQ charcoal will be provided. A 25% deposit secures the booking (flexible options available), with the balance payable 8 weeks before arrival. Outside the high season discounts can be offered for stays 3 weeks or more.
There is an optional cleaning fee of (45 euros) that you can pay so that at the end of your stay we take away the worry of cleaning the gite prior to departure - this can be paid at time of booking or during your stay-
