La Boumelle is situated on the edge of the "Parc National" just 10 minutes from the riverside town of Saumur, where will find different types of restaurants. Angers and Tours are an hour away. La Boumelle consists of 4 beautifully renovated, self catering gites with a shared pool in the Loire Valley countryside. The property was built around 1850 and served as accommodation, stables and a wash house. The gites are constantly renovated to a high standard, conserving the original rustic features of the wooden beams, local tuffeau stone walls and tiled floors.

The gites are about a 5-minute drive from the town of Allonnes, where you will find a bakery, supermarket and a number of bars tabac, as well as a petrol station.

This wonderful area of France benefits from a climate that is the hottest (but not too hot) in the northern half of France and perfect for cultivating vines.
