We have just returned from a fantastic fortnight in Tremolat. The house is amazing. Four separate parts: the barn, the house, the cottage and the studio (converted stables.) This was perfect for a group of adults and teenagers who could all have their own independence, yet be together when they wanted, to eat outside, round the pool or whatever. The barn was a fantastic conversion with a mezzanine bedroom with bath and loo. The living area was the height of the whole building and perfect for playing games together in the evening. The farmhouse had a bedroom upstairs which became very hot when the temp reached 34' so all 4 of the girls slept downstairs which they loved. The cottage in the garden was perfect for my parents and the boys loved the studio. Each part had its own front door and key so I'm not sure how a family with young children would manage. They'd probably have to have adults and children together.

A cleaner was available but as we had 6 teenagers with us we got them to earn their keep and do the cleaning! The village and nearby towns are all lovely and there is lots to do, particularly in the summer. The weather was excellent, we even had an amazing storm one night which was louder and brighter than anything any of us had experienced. While we drove down to Tremolat, some of the group flew into Bergerac which was a super little airport and only 35 minutes away. The owner, the neighbour who keeps the key and the cleaner who came to introduce herself were all totally charming and couldn't do enough for us. I can't recommend this house enough. It was a totally private home unlike some of the character-less places we have rented in the past.It is within easy access of the village and some lovely neighbouring towns. We had a ball and I hope we'll go back in the not too distant future.

We had a wonderful holiday in Le Belvedere this year. We were having a family celebration with our grown up children, partners and grandchildren and all agree it was probably our best holiday ever. The house and setting is absolutely wonderful, the accommodation clean and comfortable and the views were stunning. Such a lovely place to spend time with family and friends. The village of Tremolat, with it's retaurants - from the fabulous pizzeria to the upmarket Vieux Logis - is just a short walk away, although not so easy coming back! The house is situated on a rather steep hill which is why the views are so amazing, but it is well worth the effort. We would certainly recommend the house for a family holiday, the accommodation is very well suited to a large group with everyone having their own space to retreat to and it has a lovely homely feel. It is obviously a well loved house and we look forward to going back someday. Thank you Shari and Jonathan, we have such lovely memories of our time in Le Belvedere.

We have been fortunate to have had two visits to this lovely home located outside a village called Tremolat in the Bordeaux region of France. The house is situated up in the hills overlooking the Dordogne river which winds through the valley below. One's view from the house are fields of wheat and sunfowers with natural forests behind - a view that is peaceful and beautiful. The house is a renovated house and barn, comfortably furnished with all the mod cons. It is secluded in part of the forest and garden and a lovely azure swimming pool located right there. This home would be highly recommended by us for people who want privacy, peace and natural beauty on their holiday with culture, old towns, colourful markets just a short drive away. Food for the soul on every level.

We had a superb family get together for my 70th Birthday. As we are such a large family we took Le Belveder for 4 weeks during which time various family members came and went. The property was an absolute joy, friendly French shabi chic and not so perfect so that the grand children could enjoy themselves without fear. A car is an added benefit for collecting bread and eating out as the road in is very steep. Because the property is quite high above the river it is cool at night so we did not use the air conditioning. All in all a lovely romantic spot with plenty of room for everyone without getting in each other's way.

We, our adult children and their partners and our nearly-2-year-old granddaughter spent the most wonderful week at Le Belvedere in late May. The setting is absolutely beautiful (especially at that time of the year) with gorgeous views over the Dordogne River and over woodland that is alive with birds and other wild life - we caught a fleeting glance of deer running through the forest. There are beautiful walks through the forests and farmland around the house and the little historic village of Trémolat is close enough to walk to in order to buy your croissants for breakfast! There is so much to see in the area that a week didn’t give us enough time to visit all the beautiful places, to amble through all the local markets or to appreciate all of the history in this area of France ......a really good excuse to visit again next year!

The house is exactly what we hoped it would be .........spacious, warm and welcoming and very comfortable. It was cold for the first few days we were there and we sat around the beautiful fire place in the evenings before our dinners around the huge kitchen table. As the weather warmed up, we were able to have our meals outside under the trees, overlooking the river!

It was the perfect place for a large, happy family gathering. We had the most wonderful holiday and will definitely stay longer next time.

Thank you for making us feel so welcome!
