Explicit instructions to locate this lovely home. ..

Explicit instructions to locate this lovely home. Warm welcome from Charmaine on arrival. Stunning views. Comfy accommodation with a brilliant welcome pack plus red and white wine, luxury toiletries in both bathrooms. Charmaine maintained a discreet contact with us to ensure everything ok which ofcourse it was. I intend to return, so what more can you say?

We have stayed in many holiday properties over the..

We have stayed in many holiday properties over the years, both in France and in the UK but I have to say, this place beats them all. Charmaine couldn't have been more helpful, emailing several times before our holiday to check on our specific requirements, and during our holiday just to make sure everything was okay and we weren't in need of anything. The house itself is wonderful. We arrived to a beautiful hamper of goodies and a fridge of cold beers, just what we needed after a long journey! Charmaine and Sam have literally thought of everything, from the children's toys and books available, to a basket of toiletries in each room and info about what to see and do. The house is amazingly well equipped, I didn't need to bring half of what I brought - you'll find salt, pepper, dishwasher tablets, washing powder, tea, coffee, linen, towels, washing up liquid, soap, sponges, rubber gloves, picnic plates, napkins and even skewers for the bbq! The house is very comfortable but it's the outside which really sells this place. The covered terrace is a wonderful place to sit all day, looking up to the bastide town of Castillonès, from breakfast from the local boulangerie to your evening bbq. The pool is fabulous and the cover keeps it nice and warm and keeps the sun off when you're swimming. The garden is beautiful, packed with lavender bushes and honeysuckle whose scents waft to you as you sit and enjoy a glass of wine on the terrace. The trampoline and swings also went down very well with our little boy. I honestly don't think we've stayed in a better place and, believe me, we are very fussy! It truly is a home from home and you really feel looked after by Charmaine and Sam. We can't recommend it highly enough!

Before we even got to France Charmaine had been in..

Before we even got to France Charmaine had been in touch several times trying to get information to make the experience as great as possible. We arrived to a spotlessly clean place to be greeted by Charmaine. The kids immediately headed for the bedrooms and found a bed fit for a princess and another along side it made for a pirate with buckets of associated toys and a collection of DVD's based on the information extracted from me previously! Two very happy children. A selection of cheese, some bread, wine and other provisions were sitting on the kitchen counter along with a bottle of fizz on ice! Two very happy parents! Charmaine checked that we were ok for everything every couple of days and Sam did the same when cleaning the pool. The house itself is just the right size, a lovely terrace out front, looking out towards the Bastide of Castillones. A wonderful medieval village with the usual amenities and a small supermarket During the day we visited various attractions in the surrounding area, all of which were thoroughly enjoyed by the children. Evenings were spent eating from the BBQ and sampling some of the local wine of which there are many vineyards to choose from. I've rented many places in France over the years but no one has ever gone that extra mile like Charmaine has. I would definitely recommend to my family and friends and look forward to returning in the near future.

We arrived later than planned, tired and ready for a holiday. The welcome bread, cheese and wine was just what was needed. The start of a fantastic holiday in a beautiful spot. We had visited the gite previously and knew what to expect. However the changes that Charmaine and her family have made make a perfect holiday getaway. There was everything you could possibly need or want from charcoal and fire lighters to the children's pool towels and toys and the great coffee maker. The trampoline was a great addition. The attention to detail was amazing from asking if we needed a bed guard for my youngest to the beautiful garden with seating under the trees. The pool is very secure if you have children there is be need to worry about them getting in. The surrounding countryside is quiet and full of wildlife. The children still talk about the lazy mornings and breakfast on the terrace and the swimming pool. A perfect place to get away from it all. We will be back again one day. Thank you

From the moment we enquired about the gite we experienced excellent service from Charmaine and her family. The gite is in a good location and had a lovely view. The gite is equipped to the highest level, Charmaine ensures that you have everything to hand to be able to get straight on with your holiday. We were greated by Charmaine who showed us round and she had left us a lovely hamper full of lots of goodies. Added to that she really thinks of everything and supplies all the practical little bits and bobs you need as well. The gite was lovely and clean and the beds spotlessly clean and made up for our arrival. She also supplied lots of lovely fluffy towels and even some for the pool. The garden was lovely and you can sit and dine outside surrounded by beautiful lavender. There is lots to do in the garden, the pool is a good size and was nice and clean and warm. Added to that there was swings and a trampoline and a table tennis table. We had a lovely holiday and would highly recommend it. Thank you Charmaine and co for letting us stay in your lovely gite ... A real home from home ... Lots warmer than ours tthough with a fab pool x

We had a fantastic family holiday at the gite with..

We had a fantastic family holiday at the gite with our two girls aged 1 and 3.5 years old. We received a wonderful welcome from Charmaine - she'd made such an effort - all the rooms were ready for us with a cot for our youngest as well as changing mat, wipes etc all laid out. The room for our older girl was laid out with princess covers; princess dresses, toys and even a teddy with a note asking her to look after her for the holiday. Our room looked great, and there was a massive hamper of everything we needed. It was all very thoughtful - with milk and yoghurts and cheese suitable for the kids as well as plenty of beers and wine! The pool was a really good size and trampoline, table tennis and swings all in great condition. The garden was very private and felt very safe. The pool was gated so was very safe. Charmaine also emailed us with good suggestions for days out with the girls and was very helpful, but also allowed us the space to just relax as a family. The kitchen was fully equipped and there were plenty of plastic plates, bowls, cups, spoons etc for the girls as well as two booster seats and a high chair. It was a perfect family holiday - plenty to keep us entertained at the gite - as well being close to Bergerac (20 mins) where we went a couple of times and lots of lovely villages and markets nearby to visit as well as a lovely swimming lake too. We will definitely be going back again!

The property was perfect, clean and enough space for the family to enjoy. With its own pool it's exactly as described. Charmaine, Sam and family were very welcoming and available should there be a problem, not that there were!

Lovely area, local village within walking distance, plenty of bastide towns and markets to visit.

This is our second visit to this gîte in Cahuzac and we have had a wonderful holiday. We have never gone back to the same place twice so it’s very telling that we returned here!

The gîte is cosy and comfortable and exceptionally well-equipped. The new playhouse is a wonderful addition and the kids have been spoilt for choice about how to spend their time.

The pool is fab, the challenge is getting the kids out of the pool at the end of the day!

We have eaten every meal outside on the covered terrace which provides welcome shade.

Charmaine and Sam are wonderful hosts and I can’t recommend the place enough - go on, book now!!

We arrived, hot and sweaty, having cycled from Bergerac by a hilly and circuitous route. On entering this charming house we were immediately impressed by the attention to detail, not only the quality of the fixtures and fittings but also the excellent welcome hamper. Bedding and towels were all of good quality and the beds - all singles provided comfortable respite after days out on the bikes. The two bathrooms were adequate for the five members of our group and the covered terrace, barbecue and swimming pool all contributed to a very enjoyable holiday venue.

We are a group of cyclists in late youth (65+) and totally dependent on our bikes whilst on holiday. The surrounding terrain is somewhat undulating but well within the capabilities of anyone of moderate fitness. The nearest supermarket and boulangerie are just under two miles away and there is a good selection of restaurants and bars within easy striking distance.

Our hosts, Charmaine and Sam, were never intrusive but had we needed them they were only a phone call away.

Thanks for providing such a comprehensive holiday venue.
