The chateau can be seen on the hills from across the lake, and the anticipation as you get closer is rewarded with a wonderful site, spectacular views, and charming bedchambers. Groceries are 5 minutes away, but when you are in the pool under the stars you may as well be on a deserted island... Our host were very accommodating of the special requests of an 11 person cycling crew, and renting the whole house gave us a lot of flexibility. Some excellent local restaurants or cook yourself.
