You always wonder if a property will live up to its billing, and La Petite Maison absolutely did. Not only is it beautiful, it's also warm, inviting, and very functional. We've used VRBO and Homeaway many times, and this is right up at the top of our list. It's obvious that the home is well loved and cared for by its owners. Vincent provided valuable advice before our arrival, and both Christophe (who met us on arrival) and Martine (housekeeper) were delightful. The guide to the home is the best written of any we've seen, and chock full of valuable information.

Other visitors to Beynac often stopped to take photos of our home away from home, as they walked by and wished us Bonne Journee or Bonsoir. The property is ideal for two couples, with one bedroom being on the top floor and the other on the bottom, with the living area in between. We love to cook, and the kitchen is well outfitted. La Petite Maison is an ideal combination of a 500 year old home and a modern, livable residence.

In addition, the surrounding area is delightful. Don't miss the opportunity to canoe down the Dordogne. Have an amazing meal at La Belle Etoile in neighboring La Roche-Gageac (without breaking the bank). Spend Sunday morning at the market in St. Cyprien, where you can buy gourmet food items as well as unique gifts. Bring good walking shoes, as the terrain around Beynac is very hilly. Enjoy a bottle of pecharmante wine, which was new to us and locally produced.

All in all, this was one of our favorite rentals, and we highly recommend this property. Bring your camera!
