Set in the beautiful countryside of the Pays de la Loire in France, Le Moulin de la Quentiniere comprises three properties - Le Moulin, La Petite Maison and Le Petit Gite. The site is complemented by a fantastic leisure complex, complete with indoor heated swimming pool, gymnasium and games room.
LE MOULIN - is a stunning 5 bedroom house with ensuite bathrooms.
The property is a converted flour mill set in a quarter acre of land. It benefits from its quiet, rural setting. Surrounded by farm land, fields and woods, it is a lovely peaceful spot to enjoy the tranquility of escaping from the hustle and bustle of city life.
Le Moulin has around 9,500 sq ft of living space with each 5 of its spacious bedrooms measuring 400 sq ft!! (Imagine the average hotel suite and times by 3!) A lot of the comments I get from guests usually start with "the photos don't do it justice". Each of these gorgeous suites is furnished with a contemporary kingsize 'zip and link' bed (which means we are able to offer either a kingsize bed or separate single beds in each room). All the beds have superior mattresses for our guests' comfort and the rooms feature classic decorative touches. The suite is completed with a cosy sitting room with double sofa, flatscreen TV with both freeview and satellite, each with DVD player, with access to both English, French and foreign language television and radio channels.
Wedding Venue
We have been established for over 12 years and we offer a first class venue for weddings. When it comes to organising your special day, we will strive to create the wedding of your dreams. We are able to provide the assistance and creativity you need, catering to your style and your individual needs and requirements. You can relax and enjoy your day while we sort out everything or you can help to make it all happen. It's completely your choice.
Our Grand Salon can seat up to 100 guests; our preferred wedding partner can erect a marquee in the garden for spring/summer weddings. We work with you to ensure all the details of your wedding - including the catering, music, decoration, etc - are all perfectly tailored for the tastes of you and your guests.

The Patio and Courtyard:
Outside, there is a lovely patio with tables and chairs, sun loungers and a charcoal barcbecue for guest use (seasonal). The large courtyard has ample parking and across from Le Moulin, we have the Leisure Complex.
The courtyard leads down to a large lawned garden with a sundeck with eating area, table and chairs, brick barbecue and pétanque terrain.

Each bedroom is furnished with a kingsize zip & link bed (kingsize or convertible to 2 single beds) and a double sofabed. There is a lounge seating area with TV, hospitality tray with tea and coffee making facilities. The large ensuite has a full-size bath and separate shower cubicle, double handwash basin and WC.
Local Attractions
Le Moulin is in the little village of Désertines, in the town of Gorron, the Mayenne department of the Pays de la Loire. For those who like to explore, it is an ideal base from which to travel to other places of interest. There are weekly markets in the surrounding towns; the one in Gorron is on a Wednesday morning - get there early!
You will find plenty of public parks with floral displays, boating lakes, countryside walks, Centres de Loisirs, where you can hire bicycles, go hiking along adventure trails or, for the more intrepid, try kayaking or the high wire walks through the treetops!
For those with a penchant for all things nature based, the area has a plethora of flora and fauna, from the rollings fields of maize in the summer months to the banks of apple and pear trees, chestnut trees and wild flowers.
The red squirrel - one of many protected mammals in France - is one creature that has sought refuge here and can sometimes be spotted going about its daily routine...
We provide all our guests with a comprehensive Welcome Pack and there are a selection of leaflets detailing local sights and attractions.

Locally, I would suggest Papillon in Gorron, a little further afield, La Forge in Fontaine Daniel; on one of its good days, Le Bretagne in Fougères; L'Eveil des Sens in Mayenne; lovely seafood at the Salty Dog Bar & Bistro in St Aubin; gorgeous eats at A l'Ardoise in St Hilaire du Harcouet and my latest find, L'Essentiel in Laval, excellent food and great service. By all means, check out the surrounding areas too. (Always contact your choice of eaterie before you head out!)
With its abundance of roaming cattle, the restaurants (and, indeed, the supermarkets) in Pays de Loire are stocked with a stunning array of meat with which to create dishes – mouthwatering steaks, veal, local saucisse and the Normandy speciality, tripe, if you choose to do some experimenting in our wonderful kitchens.
Vegetarians can also choose from a vast selection of creamy cheeses and risottos, omelettes and tarts, freshly picked mushrooms and wonderful seafood – oysters, coquilles St Jacques, lobster and langoustines.
Vegans will delight in sampling seasonal produce cooked with the connoisseur in mind - mushroom bourguignon, crêpes, ratatouille...
SWIMMING
Although we tend to use the pool here at Le Moulin de la Quentinière, over the years before our pool was built, I travelled from our base at Le Moulin with my two children, checking out all the local pools and aquabulles. An aquabulle is great fun, with indoor/outdoor pools, slides, jets and some with diving pools
