A historic retreat deep in the Aveyron, with an English country garden, table tennis, a pool and pastoral views.

The house is approached down a country lane which ends at the property. It is situated in peaceful countryside, secluded, but not isolated being only 2 minutes from Lunac which has a post office, bar and bakery, and 6 mins from the busy village of La Fouillade with its impressive retail park (comprising a large supermarket, pharmacy, doctors, garden centre, DIY store, bakery, butchers, hairdressers and florist.).

It is 20 mins to Villefranche de Rouergue which has a wonderful weekly market. The historic town of Najac, listed as one of the top 10 most beautiful villages in France is 15mins away, and has a railway station with frequent connections to Toulouse and the North. Rodez airport can be reached in 1hr and Toulouse airport in 1hr 45 mins.

The property boasts a barbecue on the terraces for guests to soak up the views and listen to the children splashing in the pool.
The landscape surrounding this former farmstead is rural and quiet in every season. Relax to the chatter of cicadas, the buzzing of bees, and the occasional hum of a tractor. At night the skies are studded with stars.

The Aveyron is like a place that time forgot, yet you’re ten minutes from civilisation. Turn right at the lane for little Lunac (3km), with its 12th-century church, bar, square and boulangerie. Turn left for La Fouillard (5.5km) for shops, cafes, restaurants and all you need.

THE MAIN HOUSE:

The main house has a beautiful spacious entrance lounge/dining room, adjacent to a large and traditional fully equipped kitchen. An impressive polished stone staircase leads to a bright, relaxing lounge area with open fireplace and a wood burning stove, offering spectacular views of open countryside. The upper floor includes 3 bedrooms, a king bedroom with ensuite shower, a family room, a twin bedroom and a good sized family bathroom. There is also a further staircase leading to a large attic room, with two double sofa beds to accommodate extra guests.

The property also benefits from a stunning heated 10m x 5m swimming pool, with its own sunbathing terrace, offering panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. A well-kept English country garden and pond add to the natural beauty of the property. ( the pool is open from 1st June to 1st October each year )

If further accommodation is required, the adjacent gite can be booked at an additional cost, which sleeps 4 adults and children. 


THE GITE:
The gite, set apart from the main country house, comprises 2 en-suite bedrooms and a comfortable lounge/dining area with a modern fitted kitchenette. Large glass patio doors open out onto a sizeable lawned area, perfect for relaxing and sunbathing.

The property also benefits from a stunning heated private 10m x 5m swimming pool, with its own sunbathing terrace, offering panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. A well-kept English country garden and pond add to the natural beauty of the property. ( the pool is open from 1st June to 1st October each year )

If further accommodation is required for a larger group, the main country house, which sleeps 7 adults plus children, can be booked at an additional charge, details of which are on this website.
