La Gravette - 18th Century House with Swimming Pool in Périgord, Dordogne

La Gravette is a quietly situated stone house, built in the 18th century on the site of the ancient Roman settlement of Bersacum. For centuries, the house was inhabited by the stewards of Château Le Mas de Montet. The property is accessible via an avenue, with its characteristic skyward-reaching pergola, sits on a hilltop on two hectares of land. It boasts wonderful views of the picturesque Dronne river landscape and the privately owned Renaissance château, once a favorite residence of François Mitterrand.

During the restoration, the character and layout of the house were preserved. By removing part of the old floor slabs, a spacious country house was created with rooms up to 5 meters high and unobstructed views of the historic roof structure made of uniquely shaped, ancient oak beams. The bright living hall with its original open fireplace measures 42 square meters. Adjacent to it is the typical 33-square-meter Périgord kitchen with a large dining table in front of the open fireplace. From the kitchen, you have access to the sleeping quarters, which include a wide hallway, the 18-square-meter master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom featuring a bathtub and sink, and a 13-square-meter double bedroom next to a separate bathroom with shower and toilet on the ground floor. The hallway leads to the upper floor, where you'll find a small double bedroom and a spacious children's room with a crib and three single beds, as well as a bright bathroom with shower and toilet.

La Gravette has also been awarded the highest rating of 4 stars by the French Ministry of Tourism. With 174 square meters of living space, it comfortably accommodates nine people plus a baby. The house, boasting unobstructed views, is surrounded by three large terraces and features a modern 13-meter swimming pool with an outdoor shower, a light-filled pool house, and large, cedar-decked sun decks.

The house is equipped with electric heating and hot water, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, refrigerator with freezer compartment, electric stove, oven, extractor hood, microwave, TV, satellite antennas, DVD player, stereo system, CD player, telephone and wireless internet connection.

Booking Conditions:

La Gravette is fully furnished and equipped with cooking and eating utensils. Please bring your own bed linens, hand towels, and bath towels. Our cleaning lady is available free of charge for two hours on Saturday mornings. All guests and their children are required to be able to swim. Parents are responsible for their children.
The deposit is one-third of the total rent.

We kindly request that the remaining rent and a security deposit of €1,000 be transferred 4 weeks prior to arrival.

A rental agreement under German law is concluded upon receipt of the deposit and our binding booking confirmation.
The price includes final cleaning and tourist tax. Electricity consumption is charged according to meter reading, and firewood is calculated based on the tenant's own assessment. Arrival: Saturday from 3 pm; Departure: Saturday by 10 am
