Luxury Spacious Gites in Tourtoirac, Dordogne - The Magnolia & The Chapel

Situated a short kilometre uphill from the beautiful, riverside village of Tourtoirac, Domaine de Pragelier offers refined and elegant accommodation along with a fun and fascinating vintage concept store (brocante). This 18 th century manor house offers guests an idyllic retreat from which to explore and embrace the stunning Dordogne region, nestled amongst the rolling hills of surrounding French countryside.

Built in the early 1700s, this magnificent property is the ideal place to relax and re-charge. It's conveniently located between the small towns of Hautefort, with its extremely impressive 12th century castle and Excideuil, itself a bustling market town. A short walk away, the village of Tourtoirac sits on a lovely stretch of the Auvezere River and offers the historic abbey of Saint-Pierre-es-Liens, the remains of the 12 th century Benedictine monastery, two restaurants, a corner market, a very traditional French boulangerie as well as the famous Grottes de Tourtoirac caves within a five minute drive. The serene and secluded ambience of the property itself enables guests to be as disconnected as they wish whilst, at the same time, being within easy reach of many supermarkets, restaurants and village street-markets. Within half an hour’s drive, lies the beautiful and lively town of Perigueux - the largest town in Perigord, with its many cool restaurants, bars and shops. Also, easily accessible and well worth a visit are the breath-taking towns of Sarlat, Montignac (Lascaux), Les Eyzies, Brantome, St. Leon-sur-Vezere and Domme to name but a few.

THE GITES

There are two spacious gîtes to choose from. The Magnolia has a roomy sitting room, dining and kitchen area downstairs and an upstairs bedroom and bathroom. The Chapel sits in its own corner of the huge garden and is very private. Bigger groups can take both together, add B&B rooms and use Magnolia as a group space.

The Gites & BnB rooms are completely separate from the main house.
Laundry and ironing facilities are available on request.

The gites have a minimum stay of 4 nights except in high season when the minimum is one week.

Everything is included in the price of your stay.

Both spaces have use of the gardens and you’ll find lots of inviting places to sit and take it all in. Float in the sparkling swimming pool or retreat to the shade in the poolside summer room – a tranquil spot for chatting or reading.

Interiors are elegant and charming with beautiful furniture sourced from antique markets by owner Frédérique who has a good eye. You can visit her on-site shop and choose something to take home with you.

The Magnolia

Although it can only accommodate one couple, the living room and kitchen can accommodate 4 to 6 people.
This cottage can therefore be rented as a shared family space with our other properties for a special group occasion.

The Chapel
Situated in its own corner of the spacious garden, many villagers have come here to pray on Sundays over the past 300 years!
