What a wonderful place to stay. The gite is very well equipped, with a lovely swimming pool in beautiful surroundings. It was perfect sitting on the terrace overlooking the stunning countryside. And so quiet. Only the owls and cicadas could be heard at dusk. We had a wonderful holiday here and would recommend it to everyone.

Stunning setting with a fabulous view. We ate every meal outside but during the occasional storm could still be outside under the protection of the generous canopy. Penny and Patrick are wonderful hosts, warm, welcoming and extremely generous welcome breakfast, wine etc. We felt at home immediately and whenever we needed anything they were attentive and responsive. The swimming pool is an absolute dream. Five stars all round. Thank you Penny and Patrick for a very special vacation.

We were very happy with gite Le Saltre starting from the very warm welcome we received from Penny. The gite had all we could wish for along with the lovely surrounds of the countryside and birdsong. We had a delicious meal at Peny & Patrick's restaurant, Cafe du France in Montcuq. We highly recommend the gite and restaurant. Penny was a great communicator prior to our booking and arrival. Hope to be back in the near future.

Penny and Patrick are such lovely and welcoming hosts. Their gite is so thoughtfully done and so comfortable with the most beautiful views. It’s a haven of peace and tranquility. We even saw 2 deers wander by one evening! We were lucky with the weather and swum in the pool every day and relaxed in the sunshine. Their restaurant is a delight and we had a lovely meal there. We spent a really lovely two weeks at Gite Le Saltre. It's a fantastic property with everything you could need, in lovely grounds above a valley. The views from the property are superb. Penny and Patrick are excellent hosts and there for you should you need them but never obtrusive. There are walks from the property into the countryside, and the wildlife and fantastic night time star gazing opportunities are there to be enjoyed. Penny and Patrick's lovely restaurant in Montcuq is definitely worth a visit; we had two lovely meals there. We really hope to return one day soon to Gite Le Saltre.

Dear Penny and Patrick, Staying here for the second time as a family was once again a fantastic experience. The combination of the comfortable and tastefully decorated gîte, the beautiful surroundings and the warm hospitality makes this gîte our perfect holiday destination. Your location is ideal: a picturesque, peaceful and relaxing environment with stunning views of the rolling landscape, wonderful walks with opportunities to spot so many animals and still plenty of activities and sights between the Lot and the Dordogne to entertain everyone. We enjoyed a wonderful holiday at idyllic Le Saltre earlier this month and will definitely be back! The location is stunning, it’s quiet and peaceful with expansive views over the countryside by day and starry skies by night. The Gite itself is beautifully decorated and has all the amenities and equipment you could want; along with a warm welcome from lovely hosts and delicious breakfast pack. It is a great base for exploring the area but it’s so relaxing there we were happy spending most days by the pool or on the terrace sampling delicious local wines and produce.
