Auberge des Chevaliers
Three gîtes for 6, 4 & 2 people
Auberge des Chevaliers is located in the quiet rural village of Canlers in the Pas-de-Calais region of northern France. Originally a farm, the property's barns have been converted into three stylish gîtes: Antoine de Brabant (for up to 6 people), Charles d'albret (for up to 4 people) and Jeanne la Flamme (for 2 people). In addition, Antoine de Brabant is wheelchair friendly and ideal for anybody with reduced mobility.
The delightful property is set in an acre of mature gardens and grounds, with plenty of space for children to play safely, as well as a covered terrace providing lots of shade and an alfresco terrace equipped with garden furniture and two barbecues. Please note that smoking is permitted in the outside areas, but not inside the gîtes.
Situated in the picturesque "Sept Valleés" and just 55 minutes away from Calais, the Channel Tunnel and the airport at Le Touquet, our property is ideally located for exploring the wonderful beaches of the Opal coast, several First World War memorials, a range of historic sites which date as far back as the 13th century, the Dennlys amusement park and the area's lovely towns and villages. The "Sept Valleés" is also perfect for walkers, cyclists, golfers and fishing enthusiasts, with a choice of local restaurants and bars once you've worked up an appetite!
Formerly a farm, Auberge des Chevaliers is set around a courtyard and comprises a farmhouse, a large barn and three lovely gîtes, which used to be the stable block. Guests are welcome to park in the gated courtyard near their gîte; covered parking can be provided for motorbikes and bicycles.
Beyond the courtyard is about an acre of gardens, which have been planted with shady oak trees, hazel trees, walnut trees, and cherry trees. Wildlife is abundant, but can sometimes be a bit shy! If you're patient, you'll see a whole variety of birds throughout the day and swooping bats at dusk. The occasional rabbit, hare or pheasant might even venture across the grounds if it's really quiet.
Adjacent to the gardens are two terraces, with plenty of garden tables and chairs for guests to use. There is a covered terrace, where you can sit and relax in the shade - and an alfresco terrace, where you can cook delicious meals on one of the two brick barbecues provided. Traditional wood is available to use as an alternative to charcoal. While the parents enjoy a glass of wine, children are welcome to go exploring in the garden or to play games on the flat lawns. There is also a set of swings for the younger children.
Charles D'Albret (sleeps 4)

The adjacent dining area is furnished with a large dining table and chairs to seat up to four people.
The modern kitchen area is equipped with a dishwasher, an electric hob, an electric oven, a microwave oven and a fridge with a freezer compartment. Guests are welcome to use the laundry room, which has a washing machine and a tumble dryer. There is also a washing line in the grounds.
Charles D'Albret has two spacious bedrooms on the first floor, along with a family bathroom and a separate WC. The master bedroom is furnished with a double bed; the second bedroom is furnished with twin beds.
