Bourdeverre is a pretty hilltop farm in the heart of Vienne in western France. If you dream of calm and peace, this is the perfect rural retreat for you!
It's situated halfway between the small towns of Sanxay (1.5km) and Menigoute (1.5km); also halfway between Poitiers and Niort. The farm is located 7.5km from the A10 and 45km from Poitiers airport.
Facing south, in the middle of 9 hectares of land, Bourdeverre offers superb panoramic views of the tranquil surrounding countryside. You will find everything you need within a few minutes by car (shops etc).
Guests who enjoy fishing can fish in the Vonne River which runs through the land or in the private lake of Bourdeverre.
In Bourdeverre, we offer the Bed & Breakfast formula or the fully equipped rental formula. The main building houses 2 B&B rooms (double and twin rooms), perfect for families of 4 or 5 people. The two gîtes are for rent fully equipped: the Gîte-des-Hiboux which can accommodate 2 to 4 people and the Gîte-des-Martins-Pêcheurs which can accommodate 4 to 8 people. The gites are stone buildings which have been carefully renovated and restored into comfortable holiday homes; the oldest elements were preserved during the restoration.
Guests are welcome at the pretty Bourdeverre swimming pool. The large wooden terrace, near the swimming pool, is equipped with comfortable sun loungers and is the ideal place to admire the superb panoramic views, relax, with a good book and a good wine in hand!
We have an Animal Corner, ideal for children. There are chickens, ducks and rabbits roaming freely there that you can feed! We also have an adorable donkey named Shrek! A new arrival! Fergus, a donkey born in May.
Le Gîte-des-Hiboux
Le Gîte-des-Hiboux has 2 bedrooms that can accommodate 1 to 6 people. The cottage is heated by an electric radiator and hot water by an electric water heater. There is 1 living / dining room with television (tnt HD). Direct access to the terrace. The kitchen is equipped with an oven, gas hob, a fridge/freezer, a microwave oven and a dishwasher and washing machine. The bathroom is equipped with a bathtub with shower, a sink and a toilet.
Le Gîte-des-Hiboux has two bedrooms – one with a double bed (160cm x 200cm) and the other with two small bunk beds (2 x 90cm x 190cm) and a double bed (140cm x 190cm). Sheets are provided and included in the price. Customers can also ask us for free cradles, high chairs or playpens.
Outside there is a private south-facing terrace equipped with a barbecue and garden furniture. Guests are welcome to explore the 10 hectares of land and enjoy the swimming pool. Children have their own play area with swings and slide.

If you like fishing, Bourdeverre is the destination for you! The property has a large private lake where you can fish, very close to the farm and the lodges, in a superb environment. Bourdeverre guests also have private access to the Vonne River which runs through the property. You can fish for free 24 hours a day in the lake or river.
Bourdeverre offers fishermen fully equipped accommodation or Bed & Breakfast rentals. Fishermen on a B&B basis will also be able to use the fridge and barbecue during their stay. Dinner, ordered in advance, costs €15 per person and lunch baskets can be prepared for you. At an additional cost, fishermen can benefit from a dyeing service.
4.5km away is Le Grand Étang, a 6-hectare private lake teeming with carp, tench and roach. it is always open and you can fish there day and night; the price of a day ticket (up to three fishing rods) is €10 (from dawn to dusk). To fish at night you will have to pay an additional €10. Fishing is free for children under 16.

If you want to visit the region a little more, the Valley of the Monkeys, the Futuroscope and the pretty towns of Poitiers and La Rochelle are definitely worth exploring!
