Delightful home in a beautiful area.

We had a great time and would certainly recommend it for a family.

Lovely house, everyone loved the pool and the barbecue - a bit far from the beach (45 mins by car) but fantastic for bodyboarding. Great markets to explore relatively nearby.

A wonderful relaxing time for three generations in the family.

Very spacious house in a perfect rural retreat. Quiet, tranquil and very peaceful in private surroundings.

Beautiful, well maintained gardens (including the few other properties in hamlet) and the house is exceptionally well equipped and perfect for self catering, but if you do want to eat out, you will need to travel a fair way for a decent choice of restaurants (La Roche sur Yon is very good).

We had excellent weather and made full use of the pool and BBQ - no problems with pool not being heated as weather so good.

Only negative is NO local amenities within cycling or walking distance, but as roads are quiet and easy to drive on, not a problem - a 7 min drive for local bread and cakes(?) or 12 mins to large supermarket.

Anita (the owner} was very helpful and co-operative, with quick response to any queries.

Places for a must do visit:

Puy du Fou - do both night show and daytime - stunning.

La Rochelle - cosmopolitan - loads of shops and eating places. Historic harbour.

Thank you Anita for a wonderful week

This beautiful old property is well maintained, well furnished and fully equipped for a comfortable self catering holiday in beautiful surroundings.

It is perfect for an extended family stay or for two families to holiday together. Lots of space inside and out to ensure that you don't feel on top of each other!

The pool area and gardens are well maintained. With excellent weather we ate all meals outside ,making good use of the BBQ

The owners have ensured that all needs are catered for, with a very well equipped kitchen and entertainment for sunny days and the occasional rainy days.

A good patisserie is a short drive away for the daily bread and croissants and the nearby town has a good supermarket, restaurant and tennis courts for the more active

We would definitely recommend the house and area. it was so relaxing that there was very little push to leave the house and pool!

What more can we say, beautiful surroundings, fabulous house, pool and gardens. We were 2 families, 4 adults 6 children, that had everything we needed for a sublime stay. The problem's we had were the children treatening a mutiny on leaving day and wanting to stay "forever", and watch out for the local wine...it's very good!! Perfect holiday, we really didn't want to leave!!

This beautiful house is situated in one of the most idyllic hamlets we saw during our time in France. The gardens and verges are brimming with beautiful flowers that make for an impressive display along with the pretty painted cottages next door - a gardener's dream! With two young children, we found the pool area and outside space worked very well with plenty of space for exploring, al fresco dining and sunbathing...plus the swing proved very popular with our daughter. Inside, the house is spacious and comfortable, furnished to a good standard which made it feel like a home from home - comfy beds, quality bedding and towels and a great living area with TV, Bluray, iPod docking station etc. The garage also had a stack of children's toys, inflatables for the pool, bikes and outdoor games so plenty to keep the little ones entertained! The location of the house is rural but with easy access to main roads linking to major towns and attractions. We particularly enjoyed trips to the zoo at Sables d'Olonne, the beaches at La Tranche Sur Mer, Les Rochers and Les Conches and a real highlight was a couple of days in Il de Re and La Rochelle, about 45 minutes from the house. However, when the sun is shining, it's hard to leave the poolside and tranquil surroundings of this 'away from it all' holiday home.

We absolutely loved staying at this house. We had three generations of family including an 11 week old baby and the home met all of our needs perfectly. It is really nicely furnished with good quality bedding, and a modern bathroom. There are so many useful bits and bobs for the garden and pool - great kids toys and games. All in all, a wonderful family holiday home. We loved the amazing pool too. Many thanks.

Family of 4, including 2 x 14 year old twin girls. We had a great week, with La Vassaliere providing everything that we needed and more. We have been holidaying in France for 15 + years, and have our own place in Normandy but the beds we found at La V were in a class of their own. Waking up after a wonderful nights sleep to see the sun coming through the shutters and hearing the various chickens next door doing their thing, was a feature of a long, relaxing and really enjoyable break. Swimming before breakfast, pool side BBQs and a chance for the family to chill in quiet, tranquil countryside was what we were after and La V did not disappoint. The website doesn't convey how comfortable and spacious the house is. The location affords easy access to good food shops and opportunities aplenty for tasting the local grape. We did day trips to the beach and La Rochelle but were always pleased to return. The girls appreciated the large flat screen TV and a couple of evening saw us all watch some old DvDs, something we rarely do at home.

Recommended for: family gatherings, those looking for quiet and peace, those requiring space and time for contemplation !

Superbly equipped, extensive accommodation, large gardens and fabulous pool.

The best house we have stayed in France in over 25 years and will revisit again next year.

Will not fail to please.

We had such a lovely week at this house and find it very difficult to fault - well maybe some of the photos don't do it justice! Anyway the property is basically the best we have stayed in whilst in France. It's clean, well thought out and full of character. We were lucky enough to have the most superb weather throughout our stay so did nothing except laze by the pool and make regular trips into the nearby village to the Intermarche. Don't worry about bringing any beach equipment - there is a large garage with everything imaginable in it! Even tools and alan keys for the adjustment of the bikes provided. It was great to have a large flat screen digital TV to watch in the evenings - or even during the day for the tennis! All I can say is if this house ever came up for sale I'd want it!!
