Situated off the beaten track in a small hamlet, La Fage is surrounded by beautiful open countryside thus being the perfect place to unwind, relax and explore.

The gite is completely independent. On the ground floor you have an open plan lounge/dining area with a wood burner for those chilly winter breaks. The kitchen is also open plan, very well equipped and has everything you need should you be fed up on being waited on in the local restaurants.

From the lounge 2 double doors open up on to your private terrace where you can sit out on a warm evening and barbecue to your heart's content.

Sun loungers are provided but if relaxing in the sun gets a bit too much then perhaps you could eat your lunch in the shade on the picnic bench under your willow tree.

Upstairs there are two large bedrooms one double and one twin.

I have furnished the gite to give a homely feel with your comfort in mind and therefore have also placed in the gite a cool box and picnic set allowing you can spend days out exploring the beautiful Aveyron countryside.

For the little ones we can also provide a highchair, playpen, cot and baby bath.

Only a 5 minute drive from the bars, cafe and shops of the market village of Rignac the gite is ideally situated deep in the Aveyron countryside but nevertheless only a short drive from some stunningly beautiful villages.

Rignac holds a small weekly market and has a well stocked local shop, an excellent butchers, a pharmacy, a mouth watering boulangerie and something that defines every French village...4 hairdressers!

For the children, Rignac also has a great open air swimming pool, tennis courts and a lake.

In the next valley is not only Mirabel, a hill top village used by the French resistance to escape capture in the 2nd world war but the picture postcard village of Belcastel with it's chateau and

For a day out and only 20 minutes away is the historic bastide town of Villefranche de Rouergue which holds a weekly Thursday market and is said to be the best in the region, or you could book a canoe for an hour, 1/2 day/whole day just to cruise throught the Gorges of the Aveyron. The surrounding countryside is ideal for walking and cycling.

To entertain the children, our friends have an Alpaca farm nearby where you spend a couple of hours learning about them, pet them and you can even ride them or alternatively you could always take a picnic down to the Aveyron river flowing through the medieval village of Previnquières.

I have compiled a book which  I have placed in the gite recommending  restaurants that we have eaten in and also days out that we have doen ourselves with family and would recommend.

Places that are also a must to visit are Conques (a world heritage site), Najac, Peyrusse Le Roc, St Antonin Val Noble, the caves at Foissac, Entraygues,Cirq Lapopie, the plateau of Aubrac known for its'  world famous Laguiole knifes, Bozouls, Sauveterre de Rouergue, Roquefort famous of course  for its cheese,  Rocamadour to watch the eagles  or just drive over the famous spectacular Millau viaduct.......Phew the list is exhausting

This is truly a French retreat.........
