Our Villa in Languedoc is a three storey house built in 1910, set in its own walled garden in the peaceful village of Cruzy.  It is a two minute walk away from the village centre where the market square, boulangerie and local café are located. The villa has 4 air-conditioned bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and will comfortably accommodate 8 guests. With 2 kitchen areas and a child-friendly pool area it's the perfect place for families and small groups to enjoy a break in the south of France.

Cruzy is situated between Carcassonne and Montpellier approximately 30 minutes from the Mediterranean coast.  The Languedoc typically enjoys 300 days of sunshine per year so 'Villa in Languedoc' is the ideal rural retreat at any time of year.

Living area (first floor)
The first floor has the front door and entrance hall that runs the width of the house. On one side of the hall is the lounge with two sofas and arm chair and tables for those quiet moments. On the other side is a short corridor that leads to a toilet, and the winter kitchen. The dining room, which can seat 8 people very comfortably can be entered not only from the hall but also from the winter kitchen and 'The Blue Room'.

The winter kitchen is fully equipped with sink, fridge freezer, dishwasher and induction hob with fan oven. The kitchen can be entered from the hall, dining room or Blue Room.

The Blue Room which runs the width of the house overlooks the garden and swimming pool. This room has television and seating with coffee table. At the kitchen end of the room are the stairs that lead down to the ground floor.

Ground floor and garden
The ground floor has the utility room, summer kitchen toilet and entrance to the garden.

You will find in the utility room the washing machine and sink, freezer, two fridges, football table and plenty of storage space.

The summer kitchen is fully equipped with the fan oven, hob, dishwasher, sink. It has a table with four chairs, and a dresser that has the two sets of plates and high quality Triton glasses.

The garden has a high wall and solid entrance gates so it is private, and is divided into three areas.

In addition to the garage, the car parking area is large enough for two cars with space around them for a third. This is also where the Basketball hoop is fixed to the side of the house. On the other side is where the ping pong table is.

We also have 6 adult size bikes which guests are welcome to use( and leave in good order). We have helmets, high viz jackets, repair kits and locks for all - photos on IG account.

Bedrooms (second floor)

The top floor has two twin bedrooms (which can be made into double bedrooms), one of which has a lockable connecting door to the master bedroom.

There is a family bathroom with shower.

At each end of the landing are the double bedrooms.

The master double bedroom has an ensuite wet room and walk-in wardrobe.

All bedrooms have reversible air-conditioning.

Local Attractions

The village of Cruzy is ideally situated to enjoy the very best this region of France has to offer.

Surrounded by vineyards, the grapes harvested here are part of the AOC area known internationally by the Saint Chinian label. It is said that Languedoc is the largest vineyard in the world and from our village you can explore dozens of private and cooperative wineries. Some of our favourites include Mas de Cynanque, Domaine de la Provenquiere, Domaine Castigno and Moulin Gimié. All private domains are very happy to offer tastings but prefer if you can contact them in advance. (They are even happier if you buy some!)

We are a short drive or cycle ride from the Canal du Midi, a UNESCO heritage site dating back to the late 17th century, and a marvel of engineering - from Capestang, our nearest town, you can take a canal boat to explore the incredible Malpas Tunnel. The Voie Verte is a cycle path that runs from our local restaurant Le Terminus, to the canal port at Capestang. Bicycles can be hired and delivered to the Villa if required.

Within a 40 minute drive you can explore Mediterranean beaches, the Cité of Carcassonne, Narbonne, Béziers, and the Cathar stronghold of Minerve. A little further you can take a day trip to Barcelona, explore the beautiful city of Montpellier or visit the Pont du Gard.

If you prefer activities in addition to sightseeing there are many things to try within a short distance, many suitable for all ages. You'll find plenty of guidebooks and other helpful information on your arrival at 'Villa in Languedoc'.
