I am so lucky to visit here every Summer. I just love it! It doesn't take the usual few days to unwind. It's so beautiful and peaceful, you simply relax and are able to enjoy your holiday as soon as you arrive. I have stayed in both properties. They are very clean, comfortable and extremely well equipped. Nothing is too much trouble for Alison and Peter. They are so welcoming and knowledgeable about the area, which helps enormously to get the best out of your holiday. I love the tranquillity and beauty of the property and can easily leave my hectic life behind! I so enjoy the 'French way of life', cycling to the bakers for fresh bread, going to the wonderful markets, and of course sampling the wonderful food and wines on offer. There are plenty of places to visit in the area from gorgeous chateaus and gardens to shopping in Tours. There really is something for everyone!

An absolutely ideal location for a relaxing holiday. Fish, read ,or just let the world drift by.If you feel energetic you can walk, canoe, cycle, or jog. Situated close to all the major chateaux, and most of the smaller ones, the Moulin is an ideal base for touring, come and go as you please. Alison is very knowledgeable about wine and will offer advice and directions to many local "caves" and also about localfacilities and markets etc.

Peter is also very helpful, and a great raconteur, full of bon homie.

Poppy and Will are also great characters and full of fun.

I called this review " Paradise, as it has all the attributes , location, ambience, wine but bring your own virgins!!

Such a beautiful property in the midst of so many great, beautiful chateaus and wineries. Visit the market and indulge in all the yummy local fare. Or just hang out on the grounds. Lots of walking paths and the family border collies for playmates. As the Moulin is (obviously) on the rive there is also plenty of water recreation available. Restful or adventurous; take your pick. Lovely vacation spot!

Alison and Peter were wonderful hosts and their property has the most relaxing and interesting grounds of any property we have ever stayed in during 45 years of coming to France.

This property was even better than its description. Very peaceful and beautiful but not isolated. The accommodation was clean and very comfortable with a number of outside sitting and eating areas both in shade or sun, whatever you wanted. The owners were always willing to help you enjoy and get the most from your holiday, having a wealth of local knowledge. We enjoyed Tours on flower market day and the many beautiful villages along the Indre. And of course we enjoyed exploring the islands and bridges on the property and looking out for wild life. It is a very special place.

We stayed just over a week in late July in the downstairs apartment which is very comfortable and has everything you need. Each of the two apartments has its own outside furniture, BBQ etc, which you can set up anywhere in the grounds.

One of the things that could have been a problem was insects. With the amount of water you would expect mosquitoes. But not a one. It seems the swifts, bats and dragonflies hoover them all up.

Other reviewers have said it all so we just want to repeat: Alison and Peter are wonderful! You arrive as tenants and leave as friends. The grounds are astonishing, well worth exploring either during the day or in the evening, searching for wildlife. Lots to do in the area, including a number of lovely walks, details of which were supplied by the very good Tourist Office in Montbazon.

Like the previous reviewer, we too have never stayed anywhere like this before and we will certainly be back!
