We had a great time in Jim and Margaret's house and we would love it to come back once.

Thanks, Margaret and Jim for a few wonderful days.

This is in a really interesting part of France and the scenery is stunning. We have visited several times and always have a sense of getting away from it all. It's a great area for walking (when not too hot) or just chilling, but there are plenty of other things to do as well.

The house is a traditional stone building with

loads of character. Marg and Jim are very hospitable and welcoming and have a lot of local knowledge.

We enjoyed very much our stay at Margret´s and Jim´s house. The house is old but nice an clean. The garden with the small stream at the garden´s edge is a perfect place to chill. The small village is located very close to a famous canyon and not far away from two interesting castles. Marg and Jim are very helpful and live just next to the house. This summer we have spent already our second vacation in Cubiere and it won´t be the last!

A lovely stone farmhouse that is clean, light and spacious. Absolutely beautiful location with stunning views particularly that of the magical Bugarch Mountain. Both my husband and I have difficulty entertaining our two sons aged 6 and 13 as they are so far apart in age yet both thoroughly enjoyed this family holiday. There are many highlights including swimming in the gorge, exploring the Cathar castles, lots of laughs, wine and barbequing in the garden in the evenings. The kids loved splashing about and fishing in the stream at the end of the garden. Great to see them enjoying playing outdoors.

Incredibly peaceful and tranquil I came back in October 2010 for a weekend break and caught up on some much needed reading for the last year of my degree course – great place to work. Had two evening meals prepared by Marg this time, excellent fresh food (they use lots of vegetables and fruit from their own garden) and great value for money. Marg and Jim are excellent hosts and I would highly recommend this place.

A beautiful traditional french gite with welcoming but discreet English neighbours where we thoroughly enjoyed our two weeks with Marg, Jim and Lobo. On the first night we were invited to a local party with the villagers which helped our french no end.

The gite is spotlessly clean comfortable and with lots of character.

Lots to see and do in the area with the piece de resistence an evening visit to Carcassone for the 14th July celebrations. The Cite, surrounded by hills made a great view for the fantastic firework display. A long way to go but well worth the experience. Our advice, takea picnic and get there early.

In the local area the Cathar castles made interesting excursions as did the famous village of Rennes le Chateau with its interesting Holy Grail history.

We enjoyed walking locally the village markets and swimming both at the pool at Rennes les Bains and also at the gorge near the gite.

Further afield but easily reachable are Perpignan and the Beziers.

A great couple of weeks which we look forward to repeating one day.
