2 Bedroom Normandy Holiday Gite, Saint-Hilaire-du-Harcouet, Near Fontenay and Romagny, France Reviews

We stayed at Le Moulin des Hiboux for 2 weeks and could not have wished for anything more. The Gite has absolutely everything that you could need, for both indoor living and outdoors games. The cave was a great hit with the children and we spent hours playing darts and pool. The property is set on the edge of a quite village and it was great to sit outside and listen to the stream trickling by. The nearby town of St Hilaire has some lovely places to eat and an enormous market every Wednesday. Our thanks to Cliff and Linda for allowing us to use their beautiful Gite and for all the information they gave us. Also our thanks to Mick & Julie for their assistance when we arrived and for their local knowledge and information that helped us throughout our stay.

Well what can i say, as soon as we arrived i was in love. The gite could not be anymore perfect for me and my family. Everything we needed was provided we also had a wonderful welcome basket of wines, cider, coffee,tea and more. We visited nearby villages which were outstanding but it was always lovely to come back to the gite. Thankyou so much cliff and linda you made mine and my familys year. We Really didnt want to leave and im not ashamed to say i even had a little walk round on my own before we left and had a little tear. Looking forward to next august already. I have recommended the gite to many of my family already, they have all seen the pictures and have been impressed especially my father who is everton supporter so loved the sign in the man cave. Perfect gite, perfect holiday and wonderful memories can honestly say we have never had such a beautiful holiday. Our only regret is we didnt book 2 weeks instead of 1. Thankyou once again xxx

A great Gite, we stayed in Brittany for our first week and thought that Gite was good, then we arrived at Le Moulin. Excellent facilities, particularly the games room in the basement. The Gite was very comfortable, fully equipped throughout and a good base for exploring the south of Normandy. The location itself was ideal for my family, just 0.6K away from the small village of Fontenay, where there's a local bar/restaurant. St Hilaire du Harcouet is just 6K down the road. We would highly recommend this Gite and will likely stay here again next year!!

Just had a lovely week staying at this property. The owners very helpful and knowledgeable of area. Our teenagers loved the games room. Everything we needed was available to hand. Bonus having access to British TV and enjoying the World Cup! Beautiful, spacious surroundings. And very handy having a local shop in walking distance for fresh bread and croissants every morning. We will definitely be returning. We recommend the 10 pin bowling in Vire; excellent! Good times had by all.

Fabulous location, wonderful welcoming from owners

Les Moulin Des Hiboux was a home from home, fully equipped with everything you may need. The 'cave' was great for our teenagers, equipped with pool table, table tennis, darts etc. Chez Agnes is a must for eating out, a true French lunchtime experience (phrase book needed), Great location for discovering Normandy.

The gite was presented with everything you could need. The fully equipped kitchen was clean, the property was very spacious and the games room was a great attraction for teenage children - we spent hours in the evening playing pool and darts as a family, whilst enjoying a drink at the bar!

The location was tranquil and a great way to have a relaxing holiday. The local area was very picturesque and steeped in history - the gite being an ideal central base for touring. Places that are well worth a visit include Cascades in Mortain, Biscuiterie at Lonlay L'Abbaye, American Cemetry at St. James's and the Velorail at Pont Erambourg. The local towns are also worth exploring as they each have their own charm.

Cliff and Linda sent us through some great information on the local area and it is sensible to do some research and plan your time accordingly.

We enjoyed a lovely stay at the Moulin des Hiboux in August, it was the best equipped gite we have stayed in and had everything we needed (and more) with fresh, clean modern decor but in a homely traditional style.

The owners' neighbours who showed us in were friendly and helpful and able to answer our queries. We enjoyed trips to the coast and Mont St. Michel (definitely recommended but would advise an early start to avoid the crowds in August).

The nearby town of St. Hilaire had a fun municipal swimming pool for young children and the waterfall at Mortain was ideal for a walk. Overall a lovely place to stay in a country village location.

A wonderful Gite in a scenic, rural and peaceful location. The gite is furnished to a very high standard, everything we could possibly need was provided, there was even a welcome pack on our arrival. Great open plan space in the living area and two very spacious bedrooms on the first floor and what a bonus having the cave which the kids loved. Great location to visit many lovely sites by car. Cliff and Linda made sure that we had information before we arrived and their friends in the village were lovely and very helpful during our stay.

Quiet location, all mod cons, close to local amenities, plenty of attractions nearby. Owner very helpful and kept in touch leading up to our stay.
