VILLA RENTAL, IN LA PALMYRE, CHARENTE-MARITIME, FRANCE, 600 YARDS FROM THE BEACH - LES PINS
Two 'Classified 4 Star' private holiday villas located in the seaside town of La Palmyre along one side of the Baie de Bon Anse on the Arvert Peninsula in Charente Maritime, Poitou Charente, France. La Palmyre is a lovely town which boasts adjacent sandy beaches, a thriving market on Wednesday and Sunday mornings and a lively craft market on a Wednesday night in the summer season, one of the best zoos in Europe and many easily accessible restaurants.
Both properties are fully equipped to a very high standard and regularly inspected to ensure this standard is maintained. They are set in a small private housing development of 30 houses yet still within a few hundred metres of the town centre and about 400 to 500 metres from the closest beach. The estate has traffic barriers at each entrance so there is no through traffic. Each house also has a private garage.
The houses come well equipped, plus all the bedding and towels are supplied (except beach towels).
Both houses are insulated to the highest standards and have controlled central heating which may be required in the cooler winter months.
Due to the requirements of the 4 star standard the houses are both equipped for the normal capacity of the house - 6 persons. This means that all crockery, glassware, cutlery etc has to be sufficient to provide for double the normal capacity of the house. In this case, sufficient for 12 persons.
The owners can supply a cot for babies if they are given some notice and of course should you have any other queries they would be delighted to send you further pictures or information on the houses.
LES PINS is situated at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac with three houses. It has a small garden at the rear and a large private patio area at the front – which is surrounded by a 2.5 metre wall, which ensures total privacy. The patio area has tables and chairs for outdoor eating and of course sun-loungers for relaxing in the sun.
The owners recommend the house is suitable for 6 persons but by using the sofa bed in the lounge 8 could be accommodated.
GROUND FLOOR
Kitchen/dining area - is spacious including a fridge, deep freeze, dish washer, washing machine, microwave, large oven and all the utensils required. The dining area has a large table for seating 8 persons and has large double French windows opening out onto the garden.
Lounge area - complete with television, video recorder and hi-fi system. (the video recorder plays British VHS tapes as well as French video tapes) . The large French windows open out onto the patio and the door at the other side open onto the garden.
Toilet and cloakroom area.
FIRST FLOOR - Main bedroom - large room with a king size bed.
Double bedroom - large room with a double bed.
Twin bedroom - smaller room with two single beds.
Bathroom - with a bath/shower, washbasin and toilet.

NEARBY ACTIVITIES AND ATTRACTIONS:
The villas are situated about 600 metres from the nearest beach, a magnificent stretch of perfect sand extending for miles in each direction. There is a mixture of very calm bathing within the Baie Bonne Anse to great surfing just two miles up the coast. These very private holiday homes are only 100 metres from the town centre and 200 yards from the market, which is held on Wednesday and Sunday mornings.
There are many other fantastic beaches within 20 minutes drive such as both coasts of the pretty Isle d'Oleron, the childrens beach at Marennes Plage, which is in a tidal lagoon, so very safe for children. and if you venture by bike or walking in the direction of Royan each little cove has another lovely sandy beach.
There are miles of secluded cycle paths through the local forests to be explored, horse riding through the forest trails, tennis courts, and lots of walks. The promenade along the beach is several miles long and is a pleasant walk in the evenings. In the local marais there is an abundance of wildlife and many small paved paths suitable for bicycles.
Within one or two hours drive there are many famous towns to visit, such as Cognac with its beautiful river walks, river trips by boat and distillery visitor centres, where of course you can sample the brandy.
La Rochelle with its beautiful old buildings and miles of small alleyways full of shops, outdoor café life and restaurants- which offer every kind of food but especially seafood of all varieties.
Saintes with its Roman ruins (even an amphitheatre) and pretty river walks.
Royan with its attractive shopping area, great beaches, many restaurants and a frequent large market and of course many other smaller towns to be explored.
