Unique 3-Bedroom Houseboat on the River Seine near Paris - Ste Honorine, Yvelines

BATILLUS – HOUSEBOAT HOLIDAY RENTAL ON THE RIVER SEINE

We own Batillus, a former grain barge (péniche) which has been converted into a comfortable houseboat and is permanently moored on the River Seine at Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, in the Yvelines, approximately 15 miles from Paris.

We are looking to offer Batillus as a holiday rental throughout the year.

ACCOMMODATION

Batillus offers 3 bedrooms, sleeping up to 6 guests:

• 2 double bedrooms
• 1 twin bedroom

There is a large and comfortable living room, overlooked by the kitchen which is positioned on a raised level within the same open-plan space. This creates a lovely sociable area for cooking, dining and relaxing together.

The houseboat also has a large bathroom with a bath and overhead shower.

A washing machine is located in the workshop area.

One of the great pleasures of staying aboard Batillus is the constantly changing river landscape. Guests can watch the boats passing and enjoy an abundance of local wildlife, including kingfishers, herons, swans, cormorants, fish, coypu and even the occasional red squirrel.

LOCATION – CONFLANS-SAINTE-HONORINE

Conflans-Sainte-Honorine is situated at the confluence of the River Seine and River Oise and is considered the capital of the French inland waterways.

The town has a fascinating connection with the batellerie (inland waterway industry), and numerous traditional barges and péniches can be seen moored along its waterfront.

Conflans is a vibrant town with plenty to see and do, including:

• Restaurants, cafés and bars
• Summer dancing and live music along the quays
• Visiting river cruise ships
• Musée de la Batellerie
• Parks and riverside walks
• Swimming pool
• Art exhibitions
• Cycling routes
• Regular community events throughout the year

There is also an out-of-town leisure area offering a Pathé cinema, bowling, laser games and additional restaurants.

PARIS & DAYS OUT

Conflans has excellent rail connections, making Batillus an unusual alternative to staying directly in central Paris.

There are two railway stations, with journeys of approximately 30 minutes into central Paris. The RER A provides connections towards Charles de Gaulle–Étoile, while SNCF services provide access to Paris Saint-Lazare.

Popular days out include:

• Paris – approximately 30 minutes by train
• Versailles – less than 45 minutes by car
• Auvers-sur-Oise – approximately 30 minutes, famous as the home and final resting place of Vincent van Gogh
• Disneyland Paris – accessible via the RER network

The location therefore works particularly well for family holidays, couples, groups, art and history lovers and visitors wishing to combine Paris sightseeing with a more peaceful riverside setting.
