Self Catering Carcans Holiday Home with Private Pool in Gironde

Chez Resinier is an old resinier's cottage ( circa 1850s) which has been fully refurbished by the current owners and includes wifi, satellite TV ( both French and English channels), telephone, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and brick built BBQ. It has three double bedrooms and two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and dining/living room. There is a basic annex with additional two beds which could be used for extra guests fopr a short period of time this taking the number of beds to 10.We had major problems with our pool in 2021 but these are now fully resolved. Also sadly the roof was destroyed by a freak hail storm in June 2022 and could not be replaced until September 2022 so we had to cancel all our summer bookings. The roof has been completely replaced and the rooms re-decorated.

Our cottage is located in a small hamlet between Carcans and Hourtin.  There are large freshwater lakes nearby and the Atlantic beaches are only a short drive. The garden includes a good-sized salt water swimming pool and ample furniture for relaxing and enjoying al fresco meals. 

The local area : Carcans has the essential supermarket but also the traditional French shops and local market. There is a very good baker,fishmonger and butcher . Maubuisson is ten minutes' drive away and there you will find sandy beaches, cafes, restaurants, sailing, wind surfing and safe swimming. Ten minutes beyond Maubuisson is the Atlantic Ocean, with miles of unspoilt beaches and breakers for surfing and invigorating swimming. There is golf, cycling and horse riding within easy driving distance including wonderful cycle tracks from Maubuisson through pine forests to the Atlantic beaches.
