Villa Hirondelle sleeps 8 in 4 bedrooms, two double rooms (160x200 beds ) and two twin rooms (90x200 beds). We can provide a travel cot and baby equipment at no charge, just ask. If there are just four of you (plus baby in a cot) we can rent at a lower price than the one advertised CONTACT US FIRST

There is a large kitchen, fully equipped with stainless steel 4 ring gas hob / electric oven range cooker, microwave, work top electric oven, kettle, cafetiere,  washing machine, dishwasher, fridge freezer plus extra drinks fridge, toaster, lots of cupboard space, work tops and all the crockery, cutlery and pans required for a comfortable self catering holiday. 

The private villa has a breakfast table to seat four and a large dining table to seat eight. There is also an outdoor wooden table and chairs to seat 8, with parasol for outdoor dining.  A large brick barbecue is ideal for cooking up the delicious fresh fish bought from the market. 

Villa Hirondelles has a very spacious sitting room with sofas and chairs to seat 8, a bookshelf filled with books (English and French for adults and children) and a smart tv with access to multilingual channels and apps such as netflix (subscriptions not included) There is wifi available throughout the house. 

Patio doors open out onto a terrace area. to one side is the outdoor dining and bbq area, to the other is a sitting area with outdoor patio furniture to seat 4 so the adults can enjoy an aperitif before dinner.
CONTACT US FIRST as we can give discounts if the house is not fully occupied or you have young children in your group eg 4 adults, 4 children under 12yrs etc or are taking two weeks. There is an extra charge for extra people but we will often not charge this fee if you have young children in your group. If more people turn up than you put on your booking request ( even if they are children) we will charge you the extra fee per person over the number plus the tax de séjour that we are legally obliged to pay the authorities. 
BE HONEST and you will find us fair!

A gate with child safety latch gives access to the private pool area. The swimming pool is 9m x 4m and more than 2m deep at the deep end. It is surrounded by a large sun terrace ( a real suntrap) with sunbeds for 8 people. The pool is also alarmed to conform to French safety regulations. There are no parasols provided as there is shade at different times of day all around the property.

A large grassed garden surrounds the property with views over open fields to one side and mature trees to the other. Lots of space to play ball games and for children to run and play. The garden is not enclosed but there is no immediate dangers for young children. 

The private villa with pool has plenty of space for parking immediately next to the house. It is set well off the village lane. 

Set in the heart of the French countryside, there are stunning views in all directions. The local rural French town of st Jean d'Angely with its twice weekly market, bars, restaurants and supermarkets is just a short drive away. Cognac (distillery tours), Saintes (Roman ampitheatre) , La Rochelle (seafood restaurants) are all within an easy drive and the coast with hundreds of km of sandy beaches is also a great day trip when staying at this private villa.

As well as Cognac, Saintes, La Rochelle and St Jean d'Angely , Villa Hirondelles is centrally located for the cities of Bordeaux, Angouleme and Niort too. With good motorway access and airports in Nantes, Limoges, Poitiers, Bordeaux and La Rochelle too, it's east to travel to Villa Hirondelles. 

Family friendly things to do: Visit the world famous vineyards of Bordeaux, browse the traditional French markets in St Jean d'Angely, take the kids to the animal park in La Palmyre or the aquarium in La Rochelle, enjoy a delicious meal in one of the many restaurants or just lie by your private heated pool with a good book.

The Hirondelle villa with private pool is ideal for either one extended family or two smaller families as there is a double and twin room and bathroom on each side of the house with the spacious kitchen and living areas in between allowing for an element of privacy for your family and your friends family.

The town boasts a twice weekly market, several large supermarkets, a cinema, theatre and numerous bars and restaurants. For families with children there is a park with playground, lake and river with canoeing in summer and a large indoor swimming centre.

Saint Jean d'Angély; our local town is known for it's historic sites. The Abbaye Royale, the bell towers, the clock tower and the Musée des Cordeliers are just a few of the must see sites.

Saint Jean d'Angély is a quaint market town located in the heart of the Charente Maritime region of western France. We are just an hours drive from La Rochelle and Royan on the coast, 30 mins from Cognac with its distillery tours and Saintes with its Roman ampitheatre.

The town of Saint Jean d'Angély is also well connected, with access to the A10 motorway, a train station and La Rochelle, Bordeaux and Poitier airports too.
