Welcome to the Périgord Noir region, to the Château d'Argentonesse

Our guest house, the Château d'Argentonesse, is located in Castels, in the heart of the Périgord Noir. Ideally situated near Sarlat and the Château des Milandes, we offer you a warm and friendly welcome.

You can choose from five charming guest rooms, including two spacious family suites (also ideal for groups of friends), each with a private lounge, or stay in our independent cottage.

All rooms are located upstairs and have a private bathroom with shower and toilet. Each room overlooks the garden and swimming pool.

The "La Tour Joséphine" cottage is completely independent and located in an outbuilding of the château.

GUEST ROOMS

The Royal Suite: This spacious 75 m² family suite, or shared space for friends, includes two separate bedrooms, a bathroom, and a toilet. Its regal décor features a blue and gold bedroom with a 180 cm four-poster bed and a private sitting area, as well as a second elegant bedroom with a 180 cm bed (or two single beds upon request). A small sitting area is equipped with a welcome tray (tea and coffee), mineral water, and a Nespresso machine. The bathroom has a bathtub and shower, as well as towels and toiletries. This is a non-smoking property; pets are not allowed.

Imperial Suite:
A 50 sq m family suite with a Baroque-style living room, two separate bedrooms, a bathroom, and a separate toilet. It includes one queen-size bed (160 cm) and one king-size bed (180 cm) (or two twin beds upon request). Guests have access to a private lounge with refreshments and a Nespresso machine. The bathroom is equipped with toiletries, towels, and a hairdryer. Non-smoking, no pets allowed.

Melissandra Room:
A romantic Baroque-style room with a private shower room and toilet. High-quality bedding, a fan, toiletries, and bottled water are included. Non-smoking, no pets allowed.

Angelique Room:
A charming Baroque-style room with a private shower room and toilet, high-quality bedding, a fan, toiletries, and bottled water. Non-smoking, no pets allowed.

Eleanor Room:
An elegant Baroque-style room with a private shower room and toilet, high-quality bedding, a fan, toiletries, and bottled water. Non-smoking, no pets allowed.

CHALET – JOSEPHINE'S TOWER

Located within the castle grounds, this 75 m² 17th-century tower combines old-world charm with modern comfort. Just steps from the swimming pool, it features a vaulted kitchen, two bedrooms, and a bathroom, and can accommodate up to 6 people (an extra bed is available).

The accommodation includes a fully equipped kitchen (oven, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, coffee maker), a Smart TV, a wood-burning stove, free Wi-Fi, and access to the shared swimming pool (15 m x 6 m). Outside, guests can enjoy a shaded garden with a table and barbecue.

Amenities

Bed linen and towels are provided. A laundry service is available (€30 per load). Massages can also be booked at the castle.

Breakfast can be booked in the Bed&Breakfast (€15 per person), and dinner prepared by the host is also available upon reservation (€35 per adult, €20 per child).
A wine list is also available.

House Rules

In July and August, rentals are from Saturday to Saturday, with a minimum stay of 7 nights. Outside of peak season, a minimum stay of 2 nights is required, with flexible arrival dates. A cleaning fee of €75 and a refundable security deposit of €500 are required. Tourist tax is extra.

Pets are not allowed, and smoking is prohibited inside the property.

The Owners

Christelle and Jean-Étienne, longtime lovers of the Dordogne region, found the perfect setting at Château d'Argentonesse to create a warm and welcoming guesthouse. After years of neglect, the château has been carefully restored to share its charm and character with visitors.
