La Maison des Monts d'Or – Charming B&B with Heated Pool near Lyon & Beaujolais

WELCOME TO LA MAISON DES MONTS D'OR

Set in the heart of the old village of Saint-Germain-au-Mont-d'Or, La Maison des Monts d'Or is a charming 19th-century golden-stone guest house offering a peaceful and welcoming retreat between Lyon and the vineyards of Beaujolais.

Created by Marine and Olivier from their much-loved family home, the house has been carefully transformed into an intimate B&B where guests can relax, meet and enjoy this beautiful corner of the Val de Saône.

With four individually styled guest rooms, a heated swimming pool, garden, terraces and wonderful views towards the Monts d'Or, it makes an excellent base for romantic breaks, sightseeing holidays, business stays and relaxing weekends close to Lyon.

FOUR CHARMING GUEST ROOMS

The B&B offers four comfortable and individually decorated rooms, each with its own private shower room.

MARGUERITE
Located on the second floor, Marguerite is a peaceful room for two with beautiful views across the Monts d'Or. The room has a queen-size bed which can be separated into twin beds on request, a private bathroom with walk-in shower and air conditioning.

SIMONE
A charming 19m² first-floor room overlooking the garden. Simone sleeps two and features a queen-size bed which can also be configured as twins, together with a private walk-in shower room. A desk and Wi-Fi also make this a practical choice for business travellers and remote workers.

CHARLES
Located on the first floor, Charles enjoys views towards the Monts d'Or and offers flexible accommodation for two, with either a large double bed or two singles. A private shower room with walk-in shower completes the accommodation.

MAURICE
At approximately 30m², Maurice is the largest of the four guest rooms and can accommodate up to four guests. It offers a queen-size bed which can be separated on request, a sofa bed and a private walk-in shower room, with views towards both the Monts d'Or and the plains of the Ain.

Together, the four guest rooms provide flexible accommodation for couples, friends, families and small groups. The property currently describes Marguerite, Simone and Charles as accommodating two guests each and Maurice as accommodating two to four.

BREAKFAST INCLUDED

A continental breakfast is included with all B&B stays and features bread, pastries, jams, yoghurt, hot drinks and other breakfast favourites.

Weather permitting, breakfast can be enjoyed outside, providing a lovely start to a day exploring Lyon, Beaujolais or the surrounding countryside.

For guests arriving later or simply wishing to stay at the house for the evening, a charcuterie and cheese tasting board can also be arranged in advance at an additional cost.

HEATED SWIMMING POOL & GARDENS

During the warmer months, guests can relax beside the heated outdoor swimming pool, which is normally available from May to September depending on the weather.

Sun loungers are provided around the pool, while the garden, shaded areas and terraces offer plenty of space for reading, relaxing or simply enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

Guests can also enjoy the pétanque court and table tennis facilities.

TWO INDEPENDENT GÎTES ALSO AVAILABLE

In addition to the four B&B rooms, La Maison des Monts d'Or also has two independent 70m² gîtes, providing further flexibility for families, friends, longer stays and groups.

Les Enfants d'Abord is a welcoming two-bedroom gîte with an open-plan living area and fully equipped kitchen. It accommodates approximately 4–6 guests and has access to the garden and swimming pool.

Vire au Vent is a stylish independent loft-style gîte with large terraces and its own private garden.

The availability of both guest rooms and self-catering accommodation also makes the property particularly suitable for groups wishing to stay together while retaining a degree of independence.

RELAXATION, WELLNESS & SPECIAL STAYS

La Maison des Monts d'Or offers much more than simply somewhere to sleep.

A selection of special experiences can be arranged, including romantic stays, in-room massage and wellness breaks, private hammam experiences and seasonal aperitif boat trips on the River Saône.

During summer, weather permitting, guests can take an evening boat trip to enjoy an aperitif while watching the sunset over the Saône.

DISCOVER THE MONTS D'OR

The surrounding countryside is ideal for walking, cycling and horse riding, with the beautiful Monts d'Or immediately accessible from the property.

Two electric mountain bikes are available to hire, with further bicycle hire available locally.

The location also provides an excellent opportunity to combine outdoor activities with visits to Lyon, the Beaujolais vineyards and villages, and the attractive landscapes of the Val de Saône.

AN IDEAL BASE FOR LYON & BEAUJOLAIS

Despite its peaceful village setting, La Maison des Monts d'Or is extremely convenient for visiting Lyon.

Saint-Germain-au-Mont-d'Or railway station is approximately a 10-minute walk away, with connections taking around 15 minutes to central Lyon and the Part-Dieu or Perrache stations. Lyon Saint-Exupéry Airport is approximately 30 minutes away by car.

The location also places guests within easy reach of the renowned Beaujolais wine region, making the house particularly attractive for guests interested in vineyards, wine tasting, gastronomy and exploring the countryside north of Lyon.

BUSINESS STAYS, SEMINARS & PRIVATE GROUPS

La Maison des Monts d'Or can also accommodate business travellers, small corporate groups, team-building stays and wellness retreats.

A 70m² meeting room for approximately 8–14 people is available, with Wi-Fi, screen, projector, flipchart and flexible configurations. Accommodation can be combined between the B&B rooms and gîtes for residential seminars.

The property can also be privately hired for family or professional gatherings.

PARKING & PRACTICAL FACILITIES

Guests benefit from a private enclosed car park with five spaces, together with two electric vehicle charging points.

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the guest rooms and garden. The property does not currently accept pets.
