Le Mas - 3 Bedroom House with Private Swimming Pool Near La Garde Freinet, Var

We are perhaps biased but we think Le Mas has one of the finest views in the South of France. Certainly its position high up on the slopes of the Maures mountain range gives breathtaking views over the hills, across the local vineyards, villages and beyond to the Gulf of St Tropez.  It is also very peaceful, being away from the summer season crowds yet the coast is within easy reach. Eagles, nightingales and wild boar are just some of the wildlife that inhabit the mountain; at night pretty much all you can hear are the cicadas.

It must be said that this house is for the slightly adventurous and those who want seclusion.  Access is via a single track mountain road for four miles from the main road (tarmac until the last kilometre) then a final ascent up an unmade road to the house. 

Once there the the Gulf is spread out in front of you, looking in a line over Grimaud to Port Grimaud on the coast with St Tropez in the distance to the right.
The house is 10 miles from St Tropez and under an hour from the beaches. La Garde Freinet is the nearest village (about 4.5 miles) with a good range of shops, restaurants and a twice weekly market.

Le Mas is of dry stone construction sitting on about an acre plateau with the swimming pool to the side and views out to the Gulf of St Tropez. There is wide terracing out to the pool which allows plenty of space for table tennis, petanque or simply lounging in the sun. There is also a shaded pergola for outdoor dining.

Inside there is a bright and airy main room with an adjacent fully appointed open-plan kitchen. Large double doors look out to the Gulf and there is a open stone staircase leading up to a mezzanine sitting area with a couple of arm chairs, TV / DVD player and a double bedroom.

The other three bedrooms are located on the ground floor, with a master bedroom, a second double bedroom with ensuite bathroom and a twin bedded room at the rear of the house. There is also a good sized shower room adjacent to the twin bedded and master bedroom.

The house has three bedrooms but is geared for 6 people. Bed linen and towels are available by prior request for an additional charge; linen and towel changes can also be arranged. Basic toiletries and a welcome pack are provided for your arrival.
