This wonderful building has been tastefully restored to provide a high standard of accommodation for up to 15 people.
It is situated in a pretty, rural hamlet in the Foret de l’Horte et Tardoire and only a 5 km drive to Dignac where you will find local shops including a small supermarket, bakery, chemist, restaurant/bar and free tennis courts.
The tastefully furnished accommodation of the farmhouse comprises of a spacious well equipped kitchen with all facilities including dining table and chairs, walk-in store room, utility room with clothes washer and dryer machines, dishwasher, wet room with shower, basin & WC.
The large sitting/TV room features a large sofa, arm chairs, log burner/ceiling fan, satellite TV and DVD player, lounge with sofa and arm chairs, cosy log burner and a ceiling fan for the hotter days.
Converted barn comprises of a stunning, open plan sitting/dining room complete with an open stone fireplace, dining table with chairs, sofas and arm chairs, satellite TV, cloakroom with WC & basin, kitchen with all facilities including clothes washing machine, double bedroom with four poster & day bed, upstairs double bedroom with day bed, bathroom with shower.
The grounds of the farmhouse boast a large south facing terrace at the back of the house which leads out onto a private outdoor saline pool (10m x 5x) secured by a fence. This area looks out over spacious grounds with various fruit trees and panoramic views over the surrounding countryside. Plus, there is a full-size petanque (boules) pitch!
The historic city of Angoulême offers a variety of shops bars and restaurants to suit all pockets, all situated on quaint cobbled lanes. On one of the hotter summer days you could perhaps drive the 20 km to the beautiful Charente river where you will find a large lake for water sports.
For the young at heart take a day trip to the coast of Royan with its sandy beaches or for a bit more activity try Futuroscope Theme Park near Poitiers.
