The Château de la Flocellière in Vendée, a historic family residence, is built on top of a hill surrounded by a 15 ha park in a hilly landscape. It is 8 km from Puy du Fou (voted best park in the world, a must visit).

A beautiful heated swimming pool in summer is reserved for the guests of the castle and the residents of the two lodgings of the castle. It is far from the rooms in a beautiful green setting. Table d'hôte by reservation on certain evenings.

The first origins of the castle date back to the 11th century. It was at the time an important fortress of which the high keep and the ruins of the enclosure are still the witnesses. At the start of the 17th century, the Château was transformed into a magnificent and elegant stately home. Overlooking the Vendée Bocage, it is located in the middle of a landscape of hills, woods, ponds, in a green and bucolic softness.

It is one of the few castles in France to have been inhabited continuously for nearly 1,000 years. Poets and great men have resided in this wonderful site, whose name originates from "Flower of the sky". We will tell you about the visit of Bertrand Dugusclin, the poems of Philipine, Lord of Flocellière in the 16th century, as well as the famous love story between the beautiful Elizabeth Hamilton and the Marquis Jacques de Maillé at the time of Louis XIII.
Stay in the castle keep.

This tower, built in the 13th century and enlarged in the 15th century, plunges visitors into a distant past while offering modern comfort and a beautiful view of the Vendée countryside. It has 4 levels connected by a beautiful granite staircase whose steps are easy to climb.

On the ground floor: medieval dining room for 10 people with a beautiful tapestry, large window open in the thickness of the walls, high Gothic fireplace and a fully equipped kitchen with a window overlooking the French garden.

On the 1st floor: prestigious double bedroom known as the medieval room of 40 m2, vaulted ceiling, murals and Renaissance fireplace. Large four-poster bed and a beautiful bathroom, 2 sinks, bathtub and walk-in shower overlooking the park. The WC is separate.

2nd floor: Jacques de Maillé suite for 2 or 4 people.
Apartment composed of a large bedroom, a king size four-poster bed and another adjoining bedroom with two single four-poster beds, ideal for children dreaming of chivalry. Shared between the two bedrooms: a bathroom opening onto the Vendée countryside, double sink, bathtub and separate shower. 2 WC.

On the 3rd floor: Suite de la Belle Ecossaise for 2 or 4 people.
Apartment consisting of a large bedroom with a king-size bed and a smaller bedroom with a double bed.
Shared between the two bedrooms: a bathroom overlooking the Vendée countryside with double sink and a bathtub. The toilets are separate.
