The de Sales family has inhabited the château for more than 500 years and today welcomes guests into a property whose story stretches back over a millennium.

STAYING AT THE CHÂTEAU

Guests can choose from individually designed rooms, suites and an apartment, many named after members and personalities associated with the de Sales family.

The Marquise de Grollier Suite offers a spacious bedroom, luxurious bathroom with bathtub and separate shower, an adjoining bedroom configurable with a double or single beds, and peaceful valley views.

The 53m² Marquise Alexandrine Suite accommodates up to four guests, with a Queen-size bed, adjoining lounge that can become an additional bedroom, bath/shower and beautiful views over the Italian gardens.

For couples, the Countess Pauline, White Countess, Count Eugène and Marquise de Sales rooms each accommodate two guests and range from approximately 39m² to 46m². Features vary from marble and tower bathrooms to antique furniture, courtyard, forest and valley views.

The 43m² Marquise de Grollier Room can accommodate up to four guests and includes a marble bathroom with freestanding bathtub and separate shower.

For families and longer stays, the 60m² Tower Apartment sleeps up to six guests in two bedrooms plus a sofa bed. It has a fully equipped kitchen, private laundry facilities and views of the château courtyard. Access is through the château's oldest tower, dating from the 13th century.

BREAKFAST & DINNER AT CHÂTEAU DE THORENS

Mornings begin in the château dining room with a breakfast of fresh and local produce, including bread, pastries, seasonal fruit and freshly squeezed orange juice.

Breakfast: €25 per adult / €13 per child up to 12 years.

Hotel guests can also reserve dinner in the château's grand dining room. Traditional cuisine celebrates the Savoyard terroir using carefully selected regional produce in an intimate historic setting.

Dinner set menu: €55 per person.

WEDDINGS AT CHÂTEAU DE THORENS

With the Alps as its backdrop, Château de Thorens provides a spectacular year-round setting for destination weddings between Annecy and Geneva.

Wedding privatisation can include the entire château estate, 30 hectares of grounds, all château accommodation providing 30 beds, five reception rooms and the 220m² Pavilion.

Outdoor ceremonies can take place within the historic Italian gardens overlooking the Dent Blanche and Parmelan peaks, in the centuries-old main courtyard, or among the estate's meadows and forest. Indoor rooms provide an elegant alternative in poor weather.

Depending upon the package selected, services can include tables, chairs and outdoor furniture, wedding planning assistance, catering management, drinks packages, security, parking management, guest welcome, bar preparation and cleaning.

CORPORATE EVENTS, SEMINARS & CONFERENCES

The château is also an impressive venue for seminars, conferences, product launches, team-building events, business dinners and corporate receptions.

Historic reception spaces include the Louis de Sales Salon, accommodating up to 90 theatre-style, 110 for cocktails or 70 for dinner, and the Cavour Room, accommodating up to 45 theatre-style, 60 for cocktails or 55 for dinner.

The atmospheric Medieval Hall accommodates up to 110 for cocktails or 70 for dinner, while the historic Guard Room accommodates up to 60 for cocktails or 55 for dinner.

For larger events, the 220m² Pavilion in the main courtyard can host up to 250 cocktail guests or 215 for dinner.

The former château stud farm, known as The Riding School, provides the largest event space, with capacity for approximately 650 theatre-style, 800 cocktail guests or 700 seated for dinner.
