Originally built in 1854 by the prestigious La Rochefoucauld family, the château is a magnificent example of Neo-Gothic architecture and French romanticism. Created by Madame Rochefoucauld in memory of her late husband, the château remains filled with history, charm, and refined character.

Accommodation bookings require full payment in advance. In the event of cancellation, 75% of the payment will be refunded unless cancellation occurs within 7 days of arrival, in which case refunds cannot be provided.

The château’s principal wedding packages are the Gold Experience and the Platinum Experience, with bespoke Beyond Limits celebrations also available for couples looking for a completely tailor-made event.
GOLD EXPERIENCE
The Gold Experience includes exclusive use of the château and grounds, 2 nights’ accommodation in 21 bedrooms for up to 50 resident guests, arrival Champagne, welcome or rehearsal BBQ, unlimited house wine and beer for 3 hours, breakfast and lunch for château guests, professional photography, garden ceremony with officiant and harpist, cocktail hour with canapés, gastronomic wedding dinner, wedding cake, unlimited beer and wine during dinner and the after-party, table centrepieces, bridal bouquet and boutonnière, DJ entertainment, midnight charcuterie and cheese, and farewell breakfast. Taxes and service fees are included.

For couples looking for something truly individual, we can also create completely bespoke celebrations. Options can include extraordinary floral installations, private helicopter arrivals, tailored entertainment and other personalised experiences. Pricing is prepared individually according to requirements.
DINING & CULINARY OPTIONS
Dining can form part of the complete wedding experience, including welcome drinks, rehearsal dinner, breakfast, château lunch, cocktail hour with canapés, gastronomic wedding dinner, wedding cake, midnight snacks and farewell breakfast.
Menus can also be adapted for vegetarian, vegan and allergy-related requirements, while bespoke international dishes and personalised menus can be created with the culinary team.

Private tasting experience for two – €650, including an overnight stay, two starters, two main courses, one dessert and house wines. Cake tasting can also be requested. VAT is not included in this tasting price.
Additional experiences may include wine tastings, Cognac and brandy tastings, horse riding, hot-air balloon flights, archery, shooting, Loire excursions, canoeing, live musicians, illusionists and fire shows.
ACCOMMODATION
Accommodation is available across the Château and Coach House, with additional local overflow accommodation available for larger groups if required.
Individual room rates vary, with published prices starting from approximately €400 per night and rising to €950 per night for the Royal Suite.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Prices vary according to season, guest numbers, accommodation requirements and selected services. Bespoke quotations are available directly from Château Challain.
Accommodation rates are quoted exclusive of VAT. A deposit is required at the time of booking, with the final balance due 30 days before arrival. Payments are accepted in euros by bank transfer or approved credit card, with a 3% card charge. A security bond may also be requested for large parties or exclusive-use bookings.
Outside suppliers are subject to a 10% management fee. Guest transportation is not included but can be arranged. A Wedding & Design Fee of 10% of the complete package price may apply, or a €2,000 Day-of Planner service can be selected.
