We look forward to welcoming you to 'La Cour', a traditional 18th century stone Maison du Bourg, in the centre of this beautiful listed village set in the Parc Normandie-Maine.
Saint Céneri-le-Gérei is designated as one of ‘Les Plus Beaux Villages de France’. 'La Cour' is situated at the end of a small terrace on the main Bourg in the centre of Saint Céneri-le-Gérei and it's position means that visitors can enjoy exploring the village on foot.

La Cour is let as a Chambre d'Hôte, however guests will have the private use of the house. Upstairs we can offer two double bedrooms.  For guest’s privacy if travelling as a couple, the reservation is for one bedroom only and the second bedroom is not let.

However, if two couples are travelling together, the use of both bedrooms is ideal.

The property can acommodate up to 4 guests in total.

The Property Comprises:

A light and airy open plan hall/diner has a table and four dining chairs and this room can also be used as a reading room. The small adjoining kitchen has facilities to prepare simple breakfasts and light snacks on a self-catering basis. There is a fridge, microwave oven, electric toaster and kettle plus plus tea and coffee-making equipment.  There is also an electric dishwasher. For guests arrival the fridge will contain fresh milk, butter, fruit yoghurts and conserves. A variety of breakfast cereals, choice of teas and moulu coffee is also provided.

Fresh bread, croissants etc. can be purchased at one of the two excellent boulangeries at the nearby village of Saint Pierre des Nids, just 4 kilometers away. Visitors can enjoy lunches and evening meals at one of the three excellent restaurants a few minutes walk away or at the nearby village of Saint Pierre des Nids, where the cafe/restaurant 'Le Ardoise' has a four course lunchtime menu for 13 euros.

The living room is illuminated by a tall arched west-facing window with traditional shutters. This room is comfortably furnished with a sofa, rattan armchairs and occasional tables. The walls are decorated with paintings by the owner. The large wide-screen television receives both British free-to-view channels and French channels (360 canal+) via satelite.

There are 2 bedrooms available, each having a standard double bed, bedside tables with reading lamps, a wardrobe and a vanity unit with hand basin.  The number of guests is limited to four people.

If the reservation is for one couple only they may choose which bedroom they prefer and have exclusive use of the bathroom. The other rooms will not be let.

If the reservation is for two couples, they each have a double bedroom. The price for both rooms is dicounted by a third of the price quoted for one double bedroom.

There is currently 1 bathroom with a full-sized bath plus shower attachment and there's also a walk-in shower cubicle, a large hand-basin and W.C.  Next to the bathroom there is a second separate W.C. The property has electric central heating with radiators in all rooms.

There is a large flat-screen television with satelite connection to provide a variety of French television channels plus a separate Skybox which receives British free-to-view channels. A DVD player is also provided. Guests are welcome to read books (English language) from our library collection. We also have packs of cards, and a set of dominoes.

Outside, there is no private garden area, however La Cour is situated only a few minute’s walk from the riverside, with spacious grassed areas to sit and relax and enjoy the picturesque surroundings. There are picnic tables and a Petanque pitch for public use.

A ten minute walk from the centre of the village brings you to the beautiful gardens of La Mansoniere. Here you discover a variety of different gardens, each one uniquely themed and a great inspiration to keen gardeners. There is a small shop selling seeds and garden requisites.

There is free street parking on the road outside the property plus a large free car park approximately 100 meters away. For bikers and cyclists we can provide a locked safe area for their bikes.

The narrow streets are set against the granite rocks of 'Les Alpes Mancelles' that border the river Sarthe. The ancient church of St.Céneri sits on the crag of the highest peak and commands a panoramic view over the river and stone-built village houses below. Visitors who wish to spend a few nights (or more) en-route to other holiday destinations will be delighted to explore this lovely region of France. Saint Céneri-le-Gérei is a twenty minute drive from the A28 (E402) motorway which links to the A88/N158 to Caen (Ouistreham).

There are excellent restaurants in the centre of the village, including a brasserie, a bistro, a cafe/tea room with garden plus the local bar/cafe 'LeTaverne Giroise'.  Saint Leonard des Bois is approximately a 10 kilometer drive away.  There are several restaurants in this village including a beer cellar/bar/café and a Pizzeria.
