In the hamlet of Gary our holiday cottage full of character and charm, provides comfortable accommodation for up to 5 people in 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom. The cottage comprises a large fully fitted kitchen/dining room/lounge area decorated with original paintings. The property enjoys full central heating and the stone walls ensure warmth during winter months, yet help keep you cool in summer. Guests can enjoy breakfast on the sunny wooden terrace, a large first floor terrace for sunbathing or shaded terrace for a BBQ, great for soaking in the atmosphere of this lovely area of France. We regret that our property is not suitable children under 5 or the infirm. You will have exclusive use of the outdoor heated pool and garden (open June - mid Sep). The area is wonderful for sight-seeing with an abundance of great attractions. The cottage is well situated between Limoux and Mirepoix, south of Carcassonne – offering an ideal opportunity for visiting the Cathar Castles. A beautifully scenic drive takes you through Chalabre, Puivert, Quillan and onto the Gorges de St George. For wine enthusiasts, the area offers hundreds of opportunities to taste the local wines!! Be sure to visit the medieval towns of Mirepoix or Limoux both within half an hour and well known for musical performances, many fine restaurants and outdoor cafes. For the active enthusiast there is a plethora of fun activities including white water rafting, climbing, cycling, caving, horse riding and taking walks.

Gilli is a skilled cook & will do dinner reservations, she is also a Reiki Seichem Master - you can take a relaxing treatment by appointment. Interested in art - watercolor lessons available. Gary is a small hamlet of houses set in a valley of deciduous woods & pastures. Close to the GN7 walking route there is unlimited walking and cycling (road & all terrain) Hire your cycle from us - good quality road & all terrain, straight from our door. Listen to the nightingales sing in spring or the deer barking and owls hooting in late summer from our sunny balcony or shady terrace. Our gardens & the wild flowers attract fantastic butterflies, Swallowtails, Rare Swallowtail, Silver Washed Frits, White Admirals & many more. Relax in the sunshine, swim in the pool, picnic in the woods, walk marked paths or further afield. Close to Carcassonne & the Cathar Castles. Like a wild swim? visit Montbel a large lake near Chalabre with a mountain backdrop, or the lake at the foot of Puivert Castle.
