The hotel "Chateau de Palaja" three stars is located at a 5 minutes drive from the medieval city of Carcassonne, in the village center of Palaja.

We are offering rooms, each different from the others, in a wonderful setting, only 5 minutes driving from the middle age city of Carcassonne. The castle has 6 rooms which can welcome 2 people and some of them 3 people. The Castle also has 6 suites which can accommodate 2 to 5 people.

The location of our charming hotel is ideal for touring regional treasures such as the medieval city of Carcassonne, the Canal du Midi and its' locks, the Cathar castles or the outstanding abbeys (Fontfroide, Lagrasse, Saint-Hilaire). For our more athletic guests, the area is also favourable for outdoor activities such as kayaking or golf (Golf 18 holes located 3 km from the castle).

For the good wines and gastronomy lovers, the area got an outstanding reputation with its' Minervois, Corbières, Cabardes, Malepères, Blanquette de Limoux, or its regional cassoulet and cheeses coming from the surrounding mountains.

Our reception hall already proposes you, a breakfast "of the country" in the form of an unlimited buffet, served in an air-conditioned room or in the terrace.

There is additionally a restaurant housed in the former stables. Its' decoration, while being design and modern, retains the architectural and historical elements of the original castle (stone, exposed beams... ). This combination results in a refined and warm ambience. The very extensive wine list will allow you to taste a large selection of our famous local wines (Corbières, Cabardes, Malepères, Minervois, Limoux...)

The activity of the restaurant is however strictly independent of the hotel and we therefore recommend you to book directly by the restaurateur, Irvic at 04 68 78 16 41 or 06 59 86 69 72.In addition to the main menu menu, the restaurant offers two menus costing €31 to €37 and a children's menu at €14.

If the weather allows it, a charming terrace surrounded by the historical stone walls will welcome you. Its charm is enhanced by the presence of a majestic bicentennial olive tree.
