Chateau de Puissentut is a beautiful C12 chateau set in the heart of rolling Gascon countryside. Within easy reach of the pretty 'bastide' village of Monfort, with a boulangerie, shop, post office and restaurant, and only 10 minutes' drive to the local market town - this is an ideal place to enjoy the gentle pace of life in rural France.
Stylishly renovated, the main part of the chateau provides comfortable accommodation for up to 20 guests. Doors lead from a sheltered central courtyard into a large dining room. Adjoining this is a fully-equipped professional kitchen with access to the garden, and a secluded terrace.
Also in this part of the house is a substantial study (with wi-fi internet access), a single en-suite bedroom, and two separate w/cs. There are a further five doubles with en-suites on the ground floor, accessed directly from the gardens. The single bedroom, and one of the doubles (and their bathrooms) are wheelchair accessible - as is the ground floor of the house.
A sweeping staircase leads to the first floor and a light, airy living room (with tv, dvd and stereo). There are also four more en-suite double bedrooms on this level.
The original character of the building has been sensitively combined with modern decor and furnishings to create very comfortable, stylish accommodation. Several of the bedrooms can be arranged as doubles or twins, offering added flexibility for large groups. There is also a separate gite (with one double bedroom) that can be rented for an extra cost.
The pretty gardens at Puissentut have lovely views across the valley. With a swimming pool (10mx4m), and plenty of space for children to run around, this is the perfect place to relax in the heart of Gascony. And to help you make the most of your stay, the owners (who live in a separate part of the house) are on-hand to advise and assist you if required.

With options suitable for all levels of fitness, anyone and everyone who wishes, can get out and enjoy the countryside. If you are passionate about horses, you're in for a treat! The choice is excellent and the choice is yours - from riding lessons to guided treks on horseback. Or you can even rent a horse-drawn caravan and spend a day meandering along quiet country roads, pausing to enjoy a picnic or perhaps a spot of fishing.

For the more energetic among you, we can recommend an unforgettable afternoon in 300 acres of woodland at Accrobranche. Secured by ropes and guided by sure-handed professionals, you can release your inner Tarzan (or Jane) by swinging among the trees, crossing hanging bridges and negotiating obstacles suspended in mid-air. Weather permitting, there is no better way to discover our beautiful countryside... Up, up and away, in our beautiful balloons - it certainly beats driving, any day!
