Chalet Gallois offers superb self catering holiday accommodation for up to 10 people.

Chalet Gallois is a charming traditional chalet situated in the alpine village of Chatel in the beautiful abondance valley, it is only 90 minutes from Geneva Airport and is an ideal location for both winter and summer holidays. Chatel is part of the large Portes du Soleil ski area a linked area of pistes in both France and Switzerland.


THE CHALET:

Chalet Gallois is spacious and accommodates 10 people in comfort. The chalet is full of character with a large open living area complete with wood burning stove, chestnut flooring and authentic wooden beams.

Martin and Sue have undertaken extensive renovation and refurbishment of the chalet, to a very high standard, with the help of local craftsmen.

The open plan living area includes a large dining table providing a focal point for gatherings together and discussion of the days events.

The kitchen is equipped with an oven, gas hob, dishwasher, microwave and refrigerator. Comfortable seating is provided in front of the large fireplace.

There are five bedrooms, four with double beds and one with two single beds. One of the bedrooms has a mezzanine with extra sleeping area if required. Bedding and towels are available if required.

There is also a cot, highchair and baby gate for our younger guests.

There are two bathrooms with a shower, wash hand basin and toilet, together with a cloakroom. There is also an additional bathroom with a Jacuzzi style bath, stone wash hand basin and toilet.

There is an additional shower adjoining the sauna.

In addition the chalet has Wifi, satellite TV, a DVD player, Wii games console and iPod compatible Bose sound system. There is also a table football. Books, games and DVDs are available.

In the basement there is a washing machine and tumble drier. There is ample room in the basement for the storage of ski equipment or bikes.

There are two large patio areas with furniture for al fresco dining. There is a pleasant garden area offering both sun and shade, with a mountain stream running alongside the property.

Perfect place for families, with plenty of nearby amenities.

Chalet Gallois is a traditional chalet and is situated only one mile from the centre of the village with easy access to the Super Chatel ski area, and less than 3/4 mile from the Linga ski area.

A free bus service passes the chalet and there is a bus stop opposite the chalet.

Off road parking for two or three cars is available directly in front of the chalet.

Castle Chillon, near Montreux, is well worth a visit, as is the Olympic Museum in Lausanne.

Paddle steamers operate on Lake Geneva and stop at several of the attractive lakeside towns.

For children of all ages a visit to Swiss Vapeur Parc in Le Bouveret is highly recommended.

Italy is close by with the town of Aosta worth visiting either by the extremely scenic Grand St Bernard Pass, with the Hospice at the top, or through the impressive St Bernard Tunnel.

The town of Chamonix, with access to Mont Blanc, is also within easy reach being only 2 hours drive away.

Special Rental Conditions

Outside the above dates the rate is 140 Euro per night (980 Euro per week)

Payment is accepted in euros or British pounds.
The costs for cleaning and linen/towels are included in bookings of one week or more and there is a 10% reduction for bookings of two weeks or more.

For stays of less than 1 week the fees are:

End of stay cleaning 160 Euro

Linen and towels 20Euro per person

Weekly bookings normally commence on a Saturday but we do try and be flexible if other start days are preferred.

The chalet is also available for weekend and midweek rental, the minimum stay is 3 nights.
