This comfortable 3-bedroom ensuite apartment is on the lower 2 floors of a south-facing chalet and has superb views across Morzine centre to the Pleney and Nyon mountains directly in front. It is located in the same building as Chalet Hibou and Pigeonnier 1, and next door to Apartment Chantal, so it’s perfect if there is a group that want to book together (up to 16 people across two properties) or two groups who want to be close by each other. The apartment has a 3* classification.
Entrance is down a staircase from the main road, and in through a small porch which doubles as boiler room so you can leave gloves, coats and hats to keep warm. There's a WC off the porch. Through into the main bright living area you have a dining table in front of you with modern kitchen, and a separate relaxing lounge room with TV. This area opens out onto the wide balcony which is ideal for al fresco meals on sunny days, and if you have bikes this is where you'll store them.
Half a floor down there is a large twin bedroom (please note that there is no window but the room is very large). There is a mezzanine sleeping area with low headroom that is suitable for up to two children or teenagers. This bedroom has an adjoining shower room / WC. Half a floor down again, you have a double bedroom with en-suite shower and WC, and a twin bedroom with private shower and WC, both with the lovely front view.
The apartment is centrally heated with an oil-fired boiler. There is only 1 free parking space – if you arrive with 2 cars you will need to park one on the lower road (Route du Palais des Sports) or in the underground car park (for a daily fee). There’s a ski locker on the balcony next to the front door. If you bring bikes you will need to chain them onto the balcony (please note this is out of view of anyone from the roadside). All of the lower floor of the building is private, for our guests' use. There's a small ski locker by the front door, and a key safe for late arrivals (though we always do check-ins in person during our check-in hours).
The Pigeonnier chalet is situated on the Route des Bois Venants, roughly halfway between the Mairie and the SuperMorzine footbridge. It takes 5 mins to walk to each from the chalet. There's a regular free bus line ("M") which stops 80m from the building, which runs though Montriond, stops at Lake Montriond and carries on to Ardent, approximately every 30 mins in the winter season (though stops for 1 hour at lunchtime). In the summer the bus runs approx every hour. It takes 5 minutes (500m) to walk to the SuperMorzine telecabine across the footbridge, and another 5 min to walk across town to the Pleney slopes (or you can jump on the free little shuttle service instead). It’s also a 5 min walk down to the Carrefour supermarket and also the Dixie and Rhodos Bars as well as many other great restaurants and ski shops. There’s also a regular free ski bus (the M line) which stops 80m along the road and takes you all the way to the Ardent telecabine, for quick Avoriaz access, and goes via Lake Montriond, where you can go hiking or cross country skiing.
Geneva Airport transfers: We operate our own airport transfer service in our licensed taxi minibus, which seats max 8 passengers in comfort with plenty of luggage space (VW Caravelle 4 x 4 long wheel base). We can offer shared transfers or private transfers, always door-to-door (unlike some transfer services who will drop you at the bus station!) – contact us for a competitive quote (Prices range from €95 per person return based on 4 travelling together, down to €66pp return for 8 travelling together) / €530 for a private transfer.
Lift pass purchase: We are able to arrange your lift passes in advance of your stay, so that they’re ready on your arrival at the apartment. We can take payment for these by credit card or bank transfer in advance, or cash on arrival in resort. We offer lower rates on area and local passes than you can buy in resort. IMPORTANT: DAMAGE DEPOSIT. We take a €300 Damage Deposit prior to your arrival. This can be paid via credit / debit card or bank transfer (Revolut preferred). We refund this deposit within 3 days of your departure. It is also possible to pay by French cheque. We will hold the Damage deposit until we have received the keys back and have been able to properly check the property. Please note the deposit rises to €500 for summer mountain biking groups and at our discretion. End of stay is included in the rate for all winter bookings (14 Dec - 21 April) but for all bookings during the rest of the year there is an end of stay cleaning fee of 90 Eur payable on arrival.
BIKE PASSES Summer 2025: The PDS bike pass for 6 days costs €204 per adult, €153 per child aged 5 – 15, and €183 for "youth" (ages 16 - 25) if you buy them at the lift pass office. We can obtain passes for you at a discount of 7.5%, i.e €189 per adult and €141.50 per child, €169 ages 16- 25. You will need to book these in advance of your stay – you can pay for them by card or bank transfer in advance, or cash on arrival. After booking I will be able to send you links to the bike parks of Morzine and Avoriaz and also timetables of the summer lifts. Minimum 3 days, maximum 13 days.
