Villa Zikomo is a modern, spacious villa with 3 double bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The master bedroom has a King size bed and an ensuite with a bathtub and separate walk-in shower. Bedroom 2 has a double bed and is also ensuite and features a large walk-in shower. Both these bedrooms offer direct access to the swimming pool through French doors. The third bedroom features twin beds and comes with a separate shower room and toilet located on the opposite side of the passageway. This bedroom has French doors leading onto the front of the house. Bedrooms 2 and 3 are both fitted with an overhead fan.

There is a very light and airy open plan living room with dining area and fully equipped kitchen. The comfortable living room has a wood burner (which we hope you will never have to use during the summer). There is a TV which receives UK channels, and free WiFi is available throughout. The kitchen features a central island which can seat 6 on bar stools, Range Style cooker with induction hob, 2 electric ovens and electric grill; 2 fridges, a dishwasher and a microwave. From the living room and kitchen you also have direct access to the south facing terrace, swimming pool and great views. The villa also features an additional dining area and a utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer, freezer, iron and ironing board.

The property is completely enclosed and secure with landscape gardens, south-facing terrace (with a shaded area ideal for al fresco dining) and a private 8x3m swimming pool which is uncovered during the summer. There's a large outdoor dining table & chairs, sun-loungers and 2 bar-b-q stations - a free standing gas Weber and an inbuilt charcoal grill. Sunbathers will enjoy the space and privacy. There is also ample parking.

Situated on the edge of the historic village of Puisserguier, the villa has beautiful views over vineyards. It's superb location allows you to enjoy all that Languedoc has to offer - Cathar castles, a wealth of history & culture, fine wines & delicious food, the sun, sea & sand of the Mediterranean, the Canal du Midi, and slightly further afield, the medieval Cite de Carcassonne and the stylish city of Montpellier. Puisserguier itself is a delight with a castle that dates from 1083 which is referenced in the history of the crusades against the Cathars by the army of Simon de Montfort. The village has all the amenities necessary with bars, restaurants, pizzerias, boulangerie, butcher, chemist, 2 well stocked supermarkets, a wine cooperative and an olive oil cooperative all within a 5 minute walk. There is also a market in the village every Friday.

Local Attractions

Capestang with its collegiate church and the Canal du Midi are 5 km away. Colombiers (12 km) boasts the oppidum Enserune and the Malpas tunnel. Saint-Chinian (12 km) is well worth a visit for their Sunday market. The closest beach is 30 km away but there are many to choose from within a half hour drive. Beziers (20 km) is famous for the Ecluses de Fonserannes (staircase with 9 locks) on the Canal du Midi and its Romanesque cathedral. The town is also home to L'Octopus, a very well priced Michelin Star restaurant serving delicious food. Historic Narbonne, founded by the Romans in 118 BC, (23 km) is famous for its indoor market, 'Les Halles' which is open every morning. The stunning villages of Roquebrun (28 km), Minerve (36 km) and Olargues (50 km) are ‘must visits’. Roquebrun is nicknamed the ‘Nice of Herault’ and offers great canoeing on the River Orb; whilst Minerve and Olargues are both listed as “one of the most beautiful villages in France”. Bages, Peyriac-de-Mer and Gruissan are also well worth a visit - unique villages with lovely walks and lots going on. Pezenas is 40 minutes away and you are only 1 hour from Carcassonne, Montpellier and Perpignan. The spectacular Viaduc de Millau is 1hr 20 minutes away and a day trip to Spain is also possible as the border is only about 1hr 10 minutes away.

For wine and food enthusiasts there are some great chateaux, domaines and restaurants in the local area - and all are very reasonably priced. Treat yourself to a tasting at Domaine de Mallemort (1.5 km), Domaine de la Provenquiere (3.6 km), Chateau les Carrasses, which also offers fine dining (5 km) or Domaine Moulin Gimie (5 km). And if you want to dine out try La Tour Sarrasine in Poilhes (10 km), Restaurant le Terminus in Cruzy (10 km), Restaurant de la Tour in Montady (11 km) or Auberge de la Selette, Cabezac, Bize-Minervois (18 km). Most restaurants offer delicious set price menus especially at lunch time.

For those looking to be a bit more active, along the coast you will find long, fine, sandy beaches and all types of water sports. Walking, hiking, and cycling everywhere you look and rental bikes can be delivered to your door. Golf - Golf Saint Thomas (29 km) and Golf du Cap d'Agde (43 km) are good courses and there are many more available around Montpellier. Lac du Jouarres, a 30 minute drive away, offers fishing, sailing and water sports as well as swimming from a man-made beach.
