Local Attractions
Laroque des Alberes is a traditional Catalan village with good amenities. It's a friendly and pleasant village that is situated in one of the sunniest parts of France and is close to the beautiful Cote Vermeille with its beaches and seaside facilities. The towns of Argeles and Canet and St Cyprian have plenty of modern resort activities to offer while Banyules sur Mer, Port Vendre and Coullioure are more traditional coastal towns with their narrow streets, cafes, shops and galleries.
Towards the Pyrenees, the town of Ceret is of particular interest with a Saturday market and Modern Art Museum and further into the mountains, ski resorts are about hours drive away. Access to northern Spain is easy via the motorway and Dali's museum at Figueras is not to be missed. Barcelona is about two hours drive.
The city of Perpignan is well worth a visit and has plenty to offer of cultural and historic interest.
