Contemporary 1980's house divided into 2 flats, of which the 1st floor flat is for rent. Steps lead to the private front door. Entrance hall leading to open plan lounge/diner/fitted kitchen including dishwasher, washing machine, oven, hob, extractor, fridge/freezer, chest freezer, microwave plus cleaning equipment (vacuum, brushes, mop, iron and board, selection of cleaning products, etc).

The double bedroom offers, bed with reading lights, bedside cabinets, chests of drawers, wardrobe, view over the garden and to the Pyrenean foothills.

The twin bedroom has 2 single beds, fitted wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside table, side (reading) lights and a view of the front garden.

The 3rd bedroom has bunk beds, fitted wardrobe, chest of drawers, views to the garden and hills.

Refurbished family bathroom offers shower and vanity unit. There is a separate WC.

Baby cot, bedding and high chair available.

All beds have fitted sheets, duvets, pillows and 3 changes of linen provided. Full size bath towels and all kitchen towels are included in the rental.

The spacious lounge offers TV (French channels only) and DVD player, plus a CD player/radio. There are two x two seater leather sofas and a two seater green fabric sofa with both seats reclining.

The dining area has a table seating 6-8 people comfortably.

There is free WIFI throughout the flat.

Outside Amenities:  There is a private grassed garden with table and chairs and sun loungers. Pets welcome (please clean up after them). Off street parking. Storage shed /ski locker. Rotary washing line to dry laundry outside.

Surrounding Area:  Quillan is a market town of 3500 people with transport links (bus) at just 1€ each way to either Carcassonne or Perpignan (the closest big towns and airports) Quillan offers a variety of shops, bars, restaurants plus there is a cinema, a theatre, the 12th century chateau and the church. Twice weekly open air markets are held in the central square and by the river. In the summer there is a weekly night market with live music. The two local lakes (one for fishing, one for swimming), set in 12 hectares of leisure park are free to use (fishing permit required), with large, free car parks. The lakes are approx 1.2km from the house.

For sports enthusiasts the area offers swimming, horse riding, local bike hire, canoeing, rafting, kayaking, walking, skiing and climbing.

Quillan is 1 hour by road from several good ski resorts, 1h10 minutes from the beaches of the Mediterranean, less than 2 hours from either Andorra or the Spanish border. 2 hours from Toulouse (space centre), Montpellier, and the Camargue with it's wild horses and flamingoes.

Locally you can find a dinosaur museum, discover the mystery that is Rennes le Chateau (DaVinci code..) or explore any of 17 Cathar castles in the area.
