Local Attractions
The house is set in over an acre of grounds with shrubs, mature trees and various fruit trees and is not overlooked. At the back of the house is a large west facing courtyard garden. There is ample garden furniture including a table (with parasol) seating 12 on the terrace, barbecue and several sun loungers. There is a ramp with handrail from the parking area down to the terrace making life easier for buggies/suitcases/wheelchairs.
Games Room The basic enclosed barn is equipped with table tennis, table football and dartboard with French windows into a secluded walled courtyard.
Swimming Pool The fenced heated swimming pool is in front of the house, facing due south, and is 10m x 5m and has steps (not a ladder) with handrails into the shallow end. The deep end, with a ladder, is approximately 2m deep and the pool has a sunbathing terrace surrounding it. There are trees near the pool providing shade, if need be.
The stunning mediaeval town of Beaune is only 8 miles (13 kms) away with the world famous Hotel Dieu and Ducal Palace. The Saturday morning market is one of the best in the area. The Abbaye de Citeaux, the mother house of all the Cistercian brotherhood, is within a 15-20 minute drive. The Ducal capital, Dijon is only a half hour away with its stunning history and architecture. All the vineyards of Burgundy from Chablis down to Beaujolais via Cote de Nuits, Cote de Beaune, Chalonnaise and Maconnais are easily accessible. To really get away from it all, the National Park of Morvan with its forests, mountains and lakes seems from another era and makes a delightful day out.
