Salivac Holiday Rental Gite in Lot/Dordogne ~ Gite Hortensia
This gite is arranged on two levels and is not suitable for very small children or elderly. Upstairs has one double bedroom and one triple bedroom with an additional pull out bed. Downstairs is a showerroom with wc and a large open plan lounge/dining/kitchen area. The Lounge is comfortably furnished and the kitchen is fully equipped and has full electric oven/grill, microwave, fridge, kettle toaster, coffee maker and dishwasher. Tea towels and dish cloths provided. The property is accessed via its own shaded terrace, which is furnished for outside dining. Linen is provided and towels are available for a small extra charge.
The grounds are extensive and completely traffic free. there is a grass play area with football, volleyball and badminton and a play frame for small children. There is also boules and table tennis. The covered barbeque area overlooks the attractive pool and across the valley beyond. The pool is both fenced and alarmed and has terrace, decking sun loungers and shades.
The property has direct access to miles of meandering paths through unspoilt countryside for cycling and walking. Fishing, Tennis, Horseriding and Golf are all within easy reach.
Salviac is a typical Lotoise village on the borders of the departments Lot and Dordogne. The village has everything for the day to day requirements of our guests, including bakers, butchers, mini supermarket, post office, bank, bars, restaurants and a small weekly market. It is 15 kilometres west of the Medieval bastide town of Gourdon and 15 kilometres south of Cenac on the Dordogne river.
All the attractions of the Dordogne are nearby whether you want to take out a canoe on the river or just wander through the medieval market town of Sarlat, which is just a 25 minute drive away. The area is famous for its Cahors wine, and there are many gardens chateaux and vineyards in the vicinity where you can taste and buy the locally produced wine. The area is well known for its goats cheese and foie gras and there are numerous restaurants where you can sample the local duck dishes.
