Lovely Villa with private garden and pool, 3 bedrooms, large lounge and modern kitchen.
The property is situated in Flassan, an attractive small village at the southern foot of Mont Ventoux.
Flassan has a a bar/ restaurant, plus a shop which can provide all day to day requirements. The area is great for walking and cycling.
Bedoin, the nearest town, (5km) hosts a superb Monday Provencal market, many restaurants and shops and is the centre for cycling, perhaps because it is the start of the “hors categorie” climb of Mont Ventoux used frequently by the Tour de France. There are many Major towns and cities to visit nearby, including Avignon, Aix en Provence, Orange and Vaison le Romaine which are all less than an hour away with Marseilles, Nimes, Arles and the Carmargue only a little further.
ACCOMMODATION:
The house is set on the east side of Flassan on the road to Sault.
The villa comprises two double bedrooms which share a bathroom and the recent addition of a further double bedroom (with ensuite facilities) opens onto an extensive patio.
Both the large lounge and modern kitchen open onto a roofed terrace which faces south and west.
Up steps from the patio is a large lawn surrounding the pool (8 metres by 4 metres with a pool alarm) and pool house. Guests can enjoy fantastic views of Mont Ventoux from both from the patio and the pool house.
There is an automatic watering system for the lawn. The rear garden extends for a further 150 metres up a steep slope covered in trees. Around the house and in the garden can be found a variety of fruit trees:- olives, plums, apples, cherries, a peach an almond and a grape vine.
Both the garden and the pool are maintained locally.
THE AREA: The village is very picturesque and becoming lovelier all the timne. As the area is a centre of ochre mining local builders have started to use ochre coloured materials when renovating the exteriors of houses. The village – and particularly the square – now has a very attractive variegated pastel effect. It is also off the beaten track in a most attractive part of Provence. Drinkers will find the proximity of Gigondas, Vacqueyras and Beaumes-de-Venise attractive with Chateauneuf-du-Pape no great distance. They could also do worse than to try the Cote de Ventoux vines from the local villages. The signs as you enter the village say ‘Ville des Cerises’ and as well as the cherry orchards there are extensive vineyards and olive groves.
