Our two day stay at Boucherie was all we could hav..

Our two day stay at Boucherie was all we could have hoped for, and more......
Whether for a short stay on the way through to elsewhere (as we were) or for a tranquil 'get away from it all' destination in its own right, the location Is terrific, and coupled with Gaynor and Victor's generous and warm hospitality it's hard to imagine not enjoying time here. We, and our dog Gus, were made to feel very much at home.
We stayed in the B & B at Boucherie itself, which was perfect for us, but their self catering cottage just down the lane, with its own land and the lake, looks very enticing too.
The location is perfect as a base for exploring the northern Dordogne and although we were only there a short time, V & G's helpful tips led to a lovely day out at Brantôme and nearby villages.
Breakfasts were delicious and we would also highly recommend taking the option of evening dining in here. As well as being incredibly reasonable, the high standard of cooking was as good as anything else we had in France, and that's saying something (really Vic!). Coupled with our host's delightful company this made for for two memorable evenings. Thanks to you both for looking after us so well and especially for the extra treats on our wedding anniversary (even though my wife and I didn't agree on our number of married years!)
We had a delightful time and we plan to be back...... Thank you again, we really feel that we left having made some new friends. Very special.

We returned last week from Gaynor and Vic's lovely farmhouse having spent 4 fantastic nights with them.Myself (I have been all over France on bike trips) my wife (first time to central France) our springer.
My wife was very worried about the distance and taking the dog but after just one day she was convinced,. she loved the place great walks great roads great friendly people.
Gaynor and Vic made us so welcome it was heart warming and put her mind to rest
cooking the food she liked (very fussy eater) every night.
Gaynor gave us great advice on local attractions to visit which was time saving and informative-thank you

we stayed at boucherie b and b for three nights in september. Gaynor and Victor were great hosts and they made us, and our dog, very welcome. Their dogs, toby and fina were great fun as well.
Our room and bathroom were clean and cosy, and the nearby lake was brilliant to walk to everyday. we were given directions to nearby towns and villages which we enjoyed visiting.
Breakfast was really good quality and quantity, and Victor and Gaynor made a delicious evening meal for us with excellent wine, catering well for vegetarians
i look forward to returning to boucherie again and would recommend it to people travelling to this part of France

We would thoroughly recommend this place to stay. Gaynor and Victor could not do enough for us. Their home is beautifully appointed and furnished. We were greeted with a very warm welcome from both hosts and dogs and were made to feel at home. Gaynor and Victor worked tirelessly to make our stay very comfortable and enjoyable. We were treated to some fantastic food and the conversation flowed freely, even the dog was given 5 star treatment. We were made to feel like old friends, not as guests and would definitely return if we were ever in that part of France again.

The hosts, Vic and Gaynor, are what makes this a great place to stay. They do anything to make their guests happy and serve lovely meals which always left us stuffed. The location is amazing, set off a quiet road in the middle of nowhere with it being only a short drive to some amazing places.

The cottage itself has plenty of character and offers a great night's sleep. Our room had a separate bathroom in a room next door and I think all rooms were the same.

There was the added benefit of free Wi-Fi if you wish to stay in touch with the outside world although you did have to be in certain spots in the cottage.

Cannot add anything else that has not already been said.

I had to visit on business and needed somewhere to stay. Victor and Gaynor came recommended. I would have no hesitation in continuing that recommendation. I was welcomed into what is also there home with a warmth second to none. Even the dogs came to greet me.
The period style accommodation was warm homely and comfortable. I was short of nothing. La Boucherie is such a peaceful tranquil place in a location that is idyllic, perfect for a relaxing gettaway, with Limoges airport being so convenient for a short break. My hosts Gaynor and Victor provided stimulating enjoyable conversation after a sumtuous evening meal making me feel 'at home' thank you I left feeling I had made friends rather than visiting a Chambre D'Hote.

My sister and I would recommend to anyone who wishes to unwind, relax and enjoy the tranquility of the French countryside, the rooms are comfortable with it's own unique cottage charm. The patio area is inviting to sit back and enjoy the morning coffee after a large breakfast. The owners enjoy sharing their home, make you feel most welcomed.

My partner and I stayed at La Boucherie during August and even before we got there received a warm welcome in the e-mail correspondence from hosts Victor and Gaynor Gunn, a retired couple from Brighton who really know how to put guests at ease and enjoy their stay in this idyllic corner of the Dordogne. Our arrival and stay of four nights was an absolute pleasure. The accommodation in the old house was full of charm with lovely old beams beautiful wooden floors and private/personal bathroom. Breakfast of continental style was taken in the delightful pergola with scrumptious fresh bread from the village bakery. We decided to eat in one evening and were provided with a delicious feast of tender lamb and suitable accompaniments by very accomplished cook Victor and served by Gaynor, all with good quality local wines. Overall a great experience and highly recommended to those who want something different and easy. Our thanks to Victor and Gaynor for being great hosts and making our stay so pleasurable.

We stopped three nights with Victor and Gaynor in their fabulous house. Our Mastiff Murphy loved the place and got on really well with their two dogs and the food was great. Don't even think about it. If you are anywhere near just stay here!
Victor and Gaynor are great hosts and know the area well enough to tell you all the things not to miss and all the places to visit.
When you do just say hello from us.
