Lauzel is part of the tiny village of Savignac-sur-Leyze, which you can see from the front of the property, with Monflanquin in the distance.
Monflanquin is 10 minutes drive from Lauzel, and has pretty much everything you need during your stay - a good sized supermarket, petrol stations, banks, bakeries, a butcher, post office, newsagents, as well as boutiques and a handfull of lovely restaurants. There is a small museum full of fascinating history about the local area, and you can book guided medieval themed tours around the town, usually in the evening.
In July and August there are lively evening markets where you can sample local produce, not only in Monflanquin but in many of the other nearby bastide towns. There are plenty of activities to try in the local area - canoeing on the river Lot, horse riding, treetop climbing, and even water parks...you'll find a full list of our recommendations for everything to see and do in our handbook which we leave for you to take a look through when you get here.
We are a family-run business and have built up a wealth of local knowledge over the years – we’d be only too happy to help if there’s anything you’d like to know about the property or the surrounding areas.
Lauzel has been the setting for countless treasured family memories for us. We hope it will be for you too.
