Manoir Bourdon (Bumblebee Manor) is a holiday destination 15 miles south of Saumur nestled within the Loire Valley National Park.  The self-contained cottages are within the lovely walled grounds of the old manor.  Each of the cottages sleep 2 and has a bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, dining, lounge and private outdoor space.  Guests have shared use of a heated swimming pool and charming gardens with BBQ area.  

Borrow one of our bikes and tootle along our country lanes to explore local villages. Experience the fabulous food at local cafes, bistros and restaurants, or shop at a local market and prepare a relaxed meal in your own kitchen to enjoy in your private outdoor space with a glass of renowned Loire Valley wine.  With easy access to castles, markets, great restaurants and wineries, Manoir Bourdon is perfectly situated for a wonderful self-catering holiday in the Loire Valley, France.

THE COACH HOUSE - Basil, Thyme and Sage Cottages - Each sleeps 2

Your cottage (either Sage, Basil or Thyme) has a fully equipped kitchen, stylish lounge/dining, large comfy bed (Basil and Thyme beds can be split into 2 singles on request) and a clean, modern bathroom. The original beams and stonework are beautifully complemented by modern windows and skylights for a cozy, yet light and airy feel. 

The cottages open onto a delightful courtyard, with a palm tree for shade, a charming fountain and seating. Flowers and herbs are grown in pots for you to enjoy. Each gite has an exclusive screened area within the courtyard, furnished with a table, chairs and parasol for alfresco dining. It’s perfect for the long lazy lunches as loved by the French or for enjoying a glass or two of the fabulous Loire Valley wines. External lighting also makes the courtyard a lovely setting in the evenings too.

The large manor-house garden is equipped with BBQs and outdoor furniture, and a lovely heated swimming pool with loungers and parasols is open in the warmer months.  Borrow our bikes and tootle along our country lanes to visit local wineries and castles.  Bumblebee Manor is in rural France so you will need your own means of transport, secure onsite parking is provided free of charge.  Many of our guests are on cycling tours and love the chance to use the extensive Loire Valley cycle routes and explore its hundreds of castles and wineries.

Perfect for couples wanting a romantic getaway or for groups of friends and family wanting a shared vacation. Groups renting 3 or more gites have access to the manor house terrace with its alfresco dining and lounge areas, the best of both worlds as each couple have their own self-catering space but the group has a place to gather for dining and socializing.
